‘Cromañón’ se construyó como una ficción centrada en un grupo de jóvenes y las secuelas de la tragedia, no como una reconstrucción documental. Por qué la historia sigue a personajes ficticios
La productora presenta ‘Cromañón’ como ficción inspirada en hechos reales. Su personaje central, Malena, es ficticio: según la sinopsis oficial, asistió al recital de 2004, sobrevivió y debe enfrentar lo ocurrido y la culpa de seguir viva. La trama también recurre a su grupo de amigos para mostrar vínculos y vidas antes y después de la tragedia; parte de la historia se sitúa en 2008, cuatro años más tarde.

Ese punto de vista convierte las consecuencias personales en el centro dramático. Rolling Stone destacó la culpa de la supervivencia como un eje del arco de Malena, mientras que La Tercera describió la amistad juvenil como núcleo de la historia. Son lecturas de la serie, no pruebas de que todos los sobrevivientes o espectadores la interpreten igual.
Una decisión de tono: evitar el sensacionalismo
Rivas explicó que la intención no era recurrir a un tratamiento amarillista ni explícito. En una entrevista publicada por La Tercera el 9 de noviembre de 2024, lo resumió así: “No quisimos hacer algo amarillista o explícito”. La decisión declarada ayuda a entender el enfoque: la narración privilegia los personajes y las secuelas emocionales, en vez de presentar la tragedia como espectáculo.

La cobertura de entrevistas menciona conversaciones con sobrevivientes y cambios de guion por razones de producción.
