Yes. Four-year-old Daisy watched her mother, Katy Perry, launch from Blue Origin’s West Texas site on April 14, 2025. Perry was one of six women aboard New Shepard mission NS-31; Daisy watched from the ground and was not a passenger, according to The Associated Press and CBS News.

Blue Origin’s New Shepard vehicle completed mission NS-31 on April 14, 2025. The company identified the crew as Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyen, Gayle King, Katy Perry, Kerianne Flynn and Lauren Sánchez, describing them as its first all-female crew. Blue Origin’s mission announcement said Perry hoped her journey would encourage her daughter and others to reach for their dreams.
The Associated Press reported that the rocket climbed to 66 miles (107 kilometers) before returning to Earth. CBS News described the flight as lasting about 11 minutes. Both outlets characterized the trip as a brief up-and-down journey that gave the crew a few minutes of weightlessness.

CBS News reported that Perry sang “What a Wonderful World” during the trip. The Associated Press quoted Perry after landing: “It’s not about me. It’s not about singing my songs. It’s about a collective energy in there. It’s about us.” At a later news conference, she said, “We weren’t just taking up space. We were making space for the future.”
What made the crew historically notable?
Blue Origin called NS-31 its first all-female crew. The Associated Press described it more specifically as the first U.S. spaceflight with women filling every seat. That distinction matters: the AP noted that the only other all-female crew in the preceding 64 years was Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova’s solo flight in 1963. The AP also reported in 2025 that women made up about 15% of the more than 700 people who had traveled to space.
