In a confessional quoted by PEOPLE in an exclusive preview republished by AOL, Kody said Janelle asked him about the property often, but that he no longer trusted her and would not give her details about his plans. He said:

“We will pay off the property when the time comes and I’m not giving you any details about what I’m doing or whatever because I’m tired of disclosing information that goes through the gossip mill of our broken family.”
E! also recounted the remark in its coverage of the episode. The phrase refers to Kody’s stated reason for withholding information from Janelle about Coyote Pass; it is his on-camera account, not an independently established description of the family’s communications.

Why Janelle wanted information about Coyote Pass
The PEOPLE preview, published September 20, 2024, set the exchange against Janelle’s separation from Kody. She was considering a Montana property with her daughter Maddie and said she and Kody were not communicating. Janelle described their relationship as over and said they did not need a formal divorce because they had not been legally married.
Janelle also described the family property as split across several lots. She told Maddie that the remaining note was due in about six months, that other property was collateral for it, and that she worried Kody was not taking the matter seriously. Those details are statements made in the episode preview; the coverage does not independently verify the property’s legal or financial status.
