Sammy Gutierrez and Yasmina “Yaz” Fadoula become a couple in Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. That confirms a same-sex romance, but the sources do not give either character a specific sexual-orientation label.
When do Sammy and Yaz become a couple?
Their relationship becomes explicitly romantic in season 5, the series’ final season. Yaz admits her feelings for Sammy, and Sammy reciprocates; they become a couple. The official Amblin episode description for “The Core” sets up Yaz’s truth-telling moment, while a July 25, 2022 report from ComicBook.com describes the confession and its outcome. Amblin’s series page lists all five seasons and the episode synopsis.

What does “LGBT” mean in this context?
The series establishes a same-sex romantic relationship between Sammy and Yaz, which is LGBT representation. The cited coverage does not identify either character as lesbian, bisexual, or by another specific orientation, so it is more precise to describe what is shown—their relationship—rather than assign them an individual label.
Was their romance planned from the beginning?
Showrunner and executive producer Scott Kreamer said the writers “didn’t set out to tell that story when we started the show.” He explained that the pairing made increasingly more sense as they developed the scripts and characters, saying, “It’s like these characters are leading us, that they should be together.” These comments appeared in ComicBook.com’s July 25, 2022 interview.

Sammy’s voice actor, Raini Rodriguez, said viewers noticed “some Sammy and Yaz vibes” as early as season one. Rodriguez also said she and Yaz’s voice actor, Kausar Mohammed, did not know the eventual endgame during early recording. That reflects audience impressions and the performers’ experience; it does not establish that the romance was formally planned from the start.
