In this NCIS episode, remotely hijacked cars become part of a murder investigation. The recap supports what happens on screen, but it does not establish that the attack shown is technically realistic—or that all smart cars can be hacked.
What happens in the episode?
A Navy lieutenant and his wife are arguing in their car when it switches to autopilot, locks them inside, and drives to a garage. The incident leads the NCIS team to a string of remotely hijacked vehicles and deaths.
Parker attributes the initial hijacking to internet-connected lane-assist technology. During the investigation, Kasie finds a portable hotspot associated with Sally Clark. The case ultimately reveals Ashley as the person behind the murder scheme, with Cliff implicated as an accomplice.
Alongside the case, Parker sees visions of Lily and talks with Dr. Grace Confalone. The episode closes with a note from Lily: “You can’t tell anyone.”

Can hackers really take over cars this way?
The episode depicts connected lane-assist technology being used to hijack a car, and a portable hotspot figures in the investigation. Those plot details are not enough to verify the method in real life.
