Ryan Seacrest’s pay for hosting Wheel of Fortune has been reported as $28 million per season, but that figure has not been confirmed in the public deal announcement reviewed here. Sony announced a multiyear hosting deal beginning in 2024 without disclosing compensation.
What is the reported figure for Ryan Seacrest’s Wheel of Fortune pay?
TV Insider reported on August 6, 2025, that Radar Online put Seacrest’s compensation at $28 million per season, citing an unnamed source close to him. TV Insider’s account traces the number to that report; it is not a salary figure disclosed by Sony or Seacrest.
ComingSoon repeated the same estimate in September 2024 and also attributed it to Radar Online. Because both accounts point to the same underlying report, they do not independently verify the amount. ComingSoon’s report likewise does not establish confirmed contract terms.
What has been confirmed about his deal?
Sony announced a multiyear hosting deal beginning in 2024. The Washington Post reported that Seacrest would also serve as a consulting producer, but its account of the announcement did not state a salary, payment schedule, or bonus terms. The Washington Post’s report includes Seacrest’s appointment statement: “I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak.”

The official CBS Media Ventures/Paramount Press Express talent page says Seacrest took over hosting in fall 2024 and lists his other work, including American Idol, radio, and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. It does not publish his Wheel of Fortune compensation. The official talent page confirms his role, not his pay.
What the $28 million estimate does—and does not—mean
The estimate is reported per season, but the available reporting does not explain whether that figure includes Seacrest’s consulting-producer duties or how any compensation is structured. The public deal announcement does not resolve those questions.

Why audience figures do not answer the salary question
The Los Angeles Times reported that Wheel of Fortune averaged 7.9 million viewers through December 1, 2024, up 3% year over year, citing Nielsen data. That is audience context for the show—not evidence of Seacrest’s pay. The Los Angeles Times report was published January 6, 2025, and specifies the measurement window.
