On April 1, 2025, Dave Coulier’s representative told Good Morning America that he was cancer-free after treatment for Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma, which Coulier had announced in November 2024. That update described his lymphoma at that time; it is not a current statement that he has had no cancer. In December 2025, Coulier announced a separate p16 squamous carcinoma at the base of his tongue.
What did “cancer-free” mean in the April 2025 update?
The phrase referred to the non-Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis Coulier had made public in November 2024. On April 1, 2025, his representative confirmed to Good Morning America that he was cancer-free following treatment. The announcement came about five months after the diagnosis was made public; it should not be read as a claim about any later diagnosis.
In a statement shared by his representative, Coulier thanked family, friends and fans for their support during what he called an “emotional roller coaster ride through cancer.”
What was known about his lymphoma diagnosis and treatment?
ABC News reported that Coulier described his lymphoma as Stage 3. He said he noticed rapidly swelling lymph nodes after an upper respiratory infection; PET and CT scans and a biopsy confirmed the diagnosis. In a January 2025 interview quoted by ABC News, he described the treatment side effects as, “The side effects have side effects.”
In an August 2025 interview with FOX 2 Detroit, Coulier said he had undergone months of chemotherapy and became seriously ill after his sixth round, spending five days in intensive care while doctors investigated the cause. That is his account of his experience, not a description of what every patient should expect from chemotherapy.
What did Coulier say about support during treatment?
Coulier credited his wife, family, friends, fans and former Full House castmates with supporting him. In the August FOX 2 interview, he described his wife accompanying him to chemotherapy and medical appointments and helping care for him at home. What changed after the April 2025 update?
On December 2, 2025, ABC News reported that Coulier had announced a separate p16 squamous carcinoma at the base of his tongue, found after a PET scan. Coulier said doctors told him it was unrelated to his earlier lymphoma and that he was receiving radiation at the time of that report. This later diagnosis means the April headline should be understood as a dated update about his lymphoma, not as a statement of his overall cancer status today.
