Stine’s Pumpkinhead is a 2025 young-adult horror film about a teenager whose brother vanishes from everyone else’s memory. Sam sets out to find him before a harvest curse reaches its end at Halloween. The film was associated with Tubi’s “Terror on Tubi” slate, and the story connection is to a short story in Stine’s collection Nightmare Hour: Time for Terror—not to a novelization of the movie.
What is R. L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead about?
The film follows Sam after her brother Finn disappears. Sam is the one who still remembers him, and she joins Becka and Rusty to search for Finn and break a harvest curse before Halloween ends. The setup combines a missing-person mystery with a supernatural Halloween deadline.

Where can you watch the film?
Tubi was identified as the film’s U.S. streaming home, and the movie was part of the platform’s “Terror on Tubi” slate. Streaming catalogs can change, and availability varies by region, so check Tubi’s current listing in your location before watching.
Is the film based on an R. L. Stine book?
There is a related Stine story titled “Pumpkinhead” in Nightmare Hour: Time for Terror, a collection published by HarperCollins. An Everand listing preview includes the story. That collection is a companion reading option; it is not the film’s novelization or a book with the film’s exact title. View the Everand listing and preview.

Has a sequel been announced?
The Hollywood Reporter Japan reported in 2026 that a sequel was planned for October 2026 on Tubi, with Jem Garrard returning as writer and director. That is a reported schedule, not confirmation that the sequel is currently available; check the latest listing or announcement for its release status. The same outlet reported that the first film had accumulated more than 100 million total viewing hours. This figure is attributed to the trade outlet; no primary Tubi confirmation was established here. Read The Hollywood Reporter Japan’s coverage.
