Leo Braudy and Brittany Wisniewski said they ended their engagement after the romantic connection they had felt in the pods faded when they spent time together in person. Brittany described Leo as feeling more like a friend than a partner; the two said the breakup was mutual and amicable.
Why did Leo and Brittany end their engagement?
In an October 18, 2024 interview with Netflix Tudum, Brittany said their emotional and intellectual connection did not translate into romantic chemistry once they met face to face. She recalled continuing to have long, deep conversations with Leo, but finding that she experienced him as a friend rather than a romantic partner.

“But yeah, you can’t predict physical chemistry through a wall. You just can’t,” Brittany said. Leo described the experience as emotionally intense, saying, “I’d never shown so much emotion in such a short amount of time, so it was really scary.”
Neither described a single dramatic incident as the reason for the split. They said the relationship fizzled and that they mutually went their separate ways.

How did their relationship unfold on the show?
They connected in the pods
Leo also had a connection with Hannah in the pods. He told Tudum that Brittany’s deeper conversations stood out to him, while his conversations with Hannah felt more playful and less deep. After Hannah committed to Nick, Leo proposed to Brittany. She accepted, although she was not ready to say “I love you” in return.
The reveal changed how Brittany felt
Their first face-to-face meeting felt awkward. Leo said he wondered whether he was Brittany’s type. Brittany said the shift in energy made her think, “This is not my husband.” In the interview, she described the contrast between their pod connection and meeting in person: “I could talk to [him] behind the wall and have this emotional and intellectual connection, but in person, I was like, ‘Oh, fuck. This is not my husband.’”

They kept trying after the experiment
Leo and Brittany were not selected to continue to the Mexico phase with the other couples, but they continued exploring their relationship outside the experiment. Leo recalled the first days as electric. Brittany said they still had deep conversations, but did not feel the romantic spark she wanted.

The pair described the ending as amicable and said they unexpectedly became friends. In a separate October 31, 2024 Netflix Tudum update, Brittany and Leo were described as close friends. That update said Brittany was in a new relationship and Leo was single at that time; it does not establish their relationship statuses today.
