The counts were described as concerning a second alleged victim. The trial has since concluded: a jury acquitted Combs of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking and convicted him on two transportation counts.
What the April 2025 indictment changed
The original indictment, announced by the U.S. Department of Justice in September 2024, charged Combs with three offenses: racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation for purposes of prostitution. These were charges and allegations, not findings of guilt. The DOJ’s September 17, 2024 announcement described the prosecution’s allegations.
A contemporaneous People report said the superseding indictment made public April 4, 2025, added one sex-trafficking count and one transportation-to-engage-in-prostitution count, bringing the reported total to five. The report attributed both new counts to a second alleged victim. That description reflects the indictment’s allegations; it should not be read as an independently established finding. The April 2025 report also said the trial was set for May 5, 2025.
The publicly surfaced reporting establishes the reported additions and total, but the underlying superseding indictment is needed to verify exact statutory language and count numbering. Accordingly, the new charges are best described as reported allegations rather than quoted as though the indictment text were directly available.

What the jury found—and did not find
The later verdict was split. The DOJ’s Southern District of New York verdict statement records convictions on two transportation counts and acquittals on racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. Read the DOJ’s verdict announcement.
That distinction matters: the two sex-trafficking counts were allegations in the indictment, but the jury did not convict Combs of sex trafficking. Nor should the two transportation convictions be recast as convictions on the broader racketeering or sex-trafficking charges.

What is known about the appeal
The Associated Press reported that the Second Circuit heard appeal arguments on April 9, 2026, and did not issue an immediate ruling. The AP report on the arguments is a dated account, not confirmation of the appeal’s status on October 4, 2026. A current status should be checked against the official appellate docket before claiming that a decision has or has not issued.
