Spoiler: Kyle Fraser later won Survivor 48 in a 5-2-1 jury vote, alongside finalists Joe Hunter and Eva Erickson. Before the finale, an Entertainment Weekly interview spoke with the season’s final five—Kyle, Joe, Eva, Kamilla Karthigesu and Mitch Guerra—about their proudest gameplay move, personal highs and lows, and the juror they feared most. The interview looks back on the first 23 days, not the finale that followed.
Who were the Survivor 48 final five?
The interview’s five contestants were Kyle Fraser, Joe Hunter, Eva Erickson, Kamilla Karthigesu and Mitch Guerra. “Final five” describes the group still competing before finale night; it is not the Final 3 who reached Final Tribal Council.
Entertainment Weekly framed its pre-finale conversation around three questions: which move each player was proudest of, what their personal high and low points had been, and which juror they considered most threatening. That makes the interview a player-perspective companion to the season’s episode narrative: it records how contestants described their own choices and assessments, rather than independently verifying every claimed motive or strategic effect. Read the syndicated interview listing.
What did Kamilla say about her proudest move?
In the available interview excerpt, Kamilla identified “the whole Shauhin idol saga” as the move she was most proud of. She said a lie in that situation had more than one payoff, including keeping David and Mary from voting for her because they believed Shauhin would play an idol on her. That is Kamilla’s account of the move and the other players’ thinking; the excerpt does not independently establish their motives.

The accessible excerpt does not provide the other four contestants’ full answers or Kamilla’s complete response. Their specific proudest moves, highs and lows, and feared jurors therefore cannot be reliably summarized from the available text.
How did the finale change the picture?
The finale ended with Kyle Fraser winning the jury vote, 5-2-1. Joe Hunter and Eva Erickson joined him at Final Tribal Council. Kamilla lost the fire-making contest to Eva, while Mitch did not reach the Final 4. The pre-finale interview captures all five contestants’ views while they were still in contention; those views should not be confused with the results that became known afterward. TVLine’s finale recap recounts the elimination sequence and result.
