Chris Young was arrested in Nashville on January 22, 2024, after an alleged encounter with state alcohol agents, and contemporaneous reports said he faced three misdemeanor charges. Four days later, Nashville’s district attorney announced that the charges would be dismissed after a review of the evidence. The arrest and allegations were not findings of guilt.
What the booking record says
The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County’s booking list records Christopher Young’s arrest on January 22, 2024, at 8:30 p.m. It lists “ASSAULT OF OFFICER – OFFENSIVE CONTACT.” The entry documents the booking information; it is not a complete account of the case. What was alleged in the reported bar encounter
The Associated Press reported that Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission agents were conducting compliance checks when they encountered Young. According to the arrest affidavit as described by AP, agents first checked Tin Roof and later encountered Young at the neighboring Dawg House.
The affidavit reportedly alleged that, as agents were leaving, Young put his hands out to stop them and struck one agent on the shoulder. It also said the agent pushed Young to create distance. These are allegations attributed to the affidavit, not independently established findings. AP reported three misdemeanor charges: assaulting an officer, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Why the charges were dropped
On January 26, 2024, Nashville District Attorney General Glenn Funk announced that his office had decided to dismiss the charges after reviewing the evidence. Funk said: “After a review of all the evidence in this case, the Office of the District Attorney has determined that these charges will be dismissed.” AP and WSMV reported the announcement.
WSMV also quoted Young’s attorney, Bill Ramsey, as expressing satisfaction with the decision. That was the attorney’s response, not a judicial finding. Read WSMV’s report.

What is and is not established
The available reporting establishes the January 22 arrest, the charges reported at the time and the district attorney’s January 26 dismissal announcement. The booking-list entry and the affidavit-based account reported by AP serve different purposes: one records a booking charge, while the other describes allegations about the encounter. Neither should be treated as proof that Young committed an offense.
The sources cited here do not establish whether any later court or related proceedings occurred.
