To show Hindi lyrics in an OBS bhajan stream, add a Text source and enter the wording, or have the source read it from a text file. For a more designed panel, use a Browser Source with a local HTML page or URL. Then check the Devanagari rendering in OBS on the computer that will run the broadcast. These methods display text; they do not, by themselves, synchronize full lyrics to the audio.
Choose how the lyrics will appear

OBS describes Browser Source as “one of the most versatile sources available in OBS.” It can load a local file or URL, with configurable dimensions and CSS. Its documented defaults include an 800 by 600 viewport and a 30 FPS custom frame rate; these are defaults, not recommended stream settings. OBS Browser Source documentation.
Add lyrics with an OBS Text source
- In the OBS Sources panel, select + and add the Text source for your operating system. OBS lists Text (GDI+) for Windows and Text (Freetype 2) for macOS and Linux.
- Give the source a clear name, such as “Bhajan lyrics,” so it is easy to find in the scene.
- Enter the Hindi wording in the text field. To keep the displayed wording in a separate file, enable Read from file and select the text file containing the lyric lines you want shown.
- Choose a font installed on that computer and adjust the source’s font and layout controls. Inspect the OBS preview: check that vowel marks and conjuncts render correctly, lines fit the overlay area, and text remains legible against the video. OBS allows font selection but does not certify a particular font for Hindi, so verify the actual result on the streaming computer.
- Position and size the source in the scene. If the background makes the lyrics hard to read, adjust the text layout or place it against a suitably clear part of the video.
See the OBS Text Sources guide for the source options. A preview on a different computer or a font that is not installed on the streaming machine is not a substitute for checking the live setup.
Build a custom lyric panel with Browser Source
- In Sources, select + and add Browser Source.
- Set the source to load a local HTML file or a URL that contains your lyric panel.
- Set the viewport width and height to suit the overlay’s intended size in the scene, then position and scale it in the OBS preview.
- Style the panel with CSS and verify the page and Devanagari text on the computer running OBS. OBS’s default Browser Source CSS makes the background transparent and hides overflow; check that the content is not clipped.
- Test the panel with the actual lyrics and video, including any changes in wording, before relying on it during a long broadcast.
Browser Source is a webpage rendered inside OBS, so the page’s font and layout must be available and render correctly in that environment. The OBS Browser Source documentation covers local files, URLs, dimensions, and CSS.

Make lyrics change with the bhajan
A Text source or text file can display wording, but the documented OBS controls do not establish automatic lyric timing or song synchronization. If the lyrics should change during playback, decide who or what updates the text file or overlay, and test lyric changes, song transitions, OBS restarts, and failures. Track-title metadata alone does not show that full lyrics are synchronized to the audio; a separate timing or playback integration would be needed, and no particular integration is established here.
Prepare the 24/7 broadcast, not just the overlay
An OBS-based continuous stream depends on the computer, power, media files, OBS, and internet connection staying available. A UPS battery backup may help address power interruptions, but no particular capacity or runtime is established; it is not a guarantee of uninterrupted streaming. YouTube’s documentation describes a continuous-broadcast API scenario, but that does not guarantee uptime for a local OBS setup or for YouTube itself. YouTube Live API documentation.

- Run a full test of the scene and broadcast pipeline, including the lyric source and audio, before leaving the stream unattended.
- Check that the intended lyric file and media are available after an OBS restart.
- Plan how someone will notice and respond if the computer, connection, OBS, or the stream stops.
Check copyright before going live
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content matches and may interrupt or terminate a stream. Even licensed third-party content can be interrupted if the rights holder has not allowlisted the channel through Content ID. Confirm that you have the necessary rights for both the bhajan audio and the lyric text, and contact the rights holder about allowlisting where applicable.
