How to compare tools fairly
Run the same test in each candidate. A short, channel-specific brief is more useful than asking every tool for a generic script, because it shows whether the system can work with the materials and constraints you actually have.
- Choose one researched video topic. Give every tool the same source pack and clearly distinguish sourced facts from ideas or questions that still need verification.

- Review each draft against the same criteria. Check factual accuracy, structure, voice match, ease of re-prompting, revision effort, team collaboration, privacy needs, and current pricing or usage limits.
- Fact-check and revise before recording. Treat the output as a draft, not as a substitute for reviewing sources or exercising editorial judgment.
Record the prompts and your editing effort as you compare. That makes the decision about your actual workflow rather than a vendor label or an unverified ranking.

What makes a YouTube script useful?
A fluent draft is only a starting point. Before recording, check that the opening makes a specific promise the video fulfills; each section advances the explanation; claims are supported by your sources; transitions sound natural aloud; and the ending gives viewers a meaningful close rather than repeating the introduction. For a documentary channel, add context and attribution where the subject calls for them, and distinguish fact from interpretation.
Give the tool enough direction to produce a channel-shaped draft, but keep responsibility for what the finished video says. General capability descriptions from OpenAI and Anthropic support using their assistants for writing or drafting; they do not demonstrate that any generated script is accurate, original, or ready to publish.

AI scripts, originality, and YouTube monetization
YouTube’s monetization policy says content should be an original creation and should not be mass-produced, generic, repetitive, or manipulative. Its policy page records a July 15, 2025 clarification that renamed “repetitious content” to “inauthentic content” and explains that repetitive or mass-produced content is included. The policy says: “Be your original creation. If you borrow content from someone else, you need to change it significantly to make it your own.” It also says content should “Not be mass-produced, generic, repetitive, or manipulative.” Read the current YouTube channel monetization policies when monetization is part of your decision.
These statements are not an AI-specific ban, and using AI alone does not establish whether a channel qualifies for monetization. The practical standard is the finished work: original research, accurate claims, distinct commentary, meaningful creator revision, and a video made for viewers’ enjoyment or education—not simply repeated scripts produced at scale.
