The First Fifty Years is a three-volume album assembled for Jeffrey Epstein’s 50th birthday in 2003. The House Oversight Committee released records supplied by Epstein’s estate in September 2025, making the scan available to the public. It is a private birthday album—not a conventional biography—and an entry attributed to someone is not, by itself, proof of authorship or knowledge of Epstein’s crimes.
What is the Jeffrey Epstein birthday book?
The First Fifty Years was compiled as a birthday gift for Epstein in 2003. A July 2025 letter from Representatives Robert Garcia and Ro Khanna described it as compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell. Maxwell’s introduction, quoted by The Guardian, says the aim was “simply to gather stories and old photographs to jog your memory about places and people and different events.”
The House Oversight Committee announced the release of records provided by Epstein’s estate on September 8, 2025. Its release page is the primary route to the publicly released archival record.
What does the album contain?
The Guardian reported that the released scan is 238 pages long. It is organized into sections for different groups of associates and combines greetings and letters with photographs, drawings, and other personal material. Reporting also describes sexualized content. That mix reflects the character of a private social album; it should not be treated as a vetted account of events or relationships.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Garcia and Khanna’s July 25, 2025 letter called for a complete, unredacted copy. The letter documents their request and their characterization of the book at the time; it is not independent verification of every item in the album.
Who is reported to appear in it?
The Guardian reports entries attributed to Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and Peter Mandelson, among other contributors. It describes Clinton as listed in a “friends” section and quotes a reported note referring to “childlike curiosity” and a “drive to make a difference.” Mandelson’s reported entry calls Epstein “my best pal.” These are descriptions and attributions of material in the released book, not proof of when a relationship ended, what a person knew, or participation in a crime.

The album also has sections identified in reporting as “assistants” and “girlfriends,” among other categories. A name or label in a social album cannot establish the nature of a person’s relationship with Epstein. Nor does inclusion alone demonstrate knowledge of, or involvement in, his criminal conduct. Avoid treating the book as a comprehensive or independently verified roster.
What is disputed about the entry attributed to Trump?
The Guardian reports that the album includes a note and drawing attributed to Trump, depicting an imagined exchange with Epstein. The same report says Trump denied writing or drawing the entry. The scan’s attribution and Trump’s denial are both relevant; the released album alone does not authenticate who created the item.

How should readers use the released copy?
Consult the House Oversight Committee’s release page for the archival record and read individual entries in context. Distinguish what a page visibly contains from who is independently established to have authored it. A reproduced scan can show that an item appears in the album; it does not, by itself, verify its authorship, the circumstances in which it was added, or what its presence means.
