Yes. One NGINX RTMP server can relay separate incoming feeds to two YouTube channels: configure a distinct RTMP application and matching YouTube push destination for each channel, then test each route in YouTube Live Control Room before going public. Keep the inputs and stream keys isolated, because an ambiguous route can send the wrong feed to a destination.
How the two-channel relay works
Your encoder publishes a feed to the NGINX server. The nginx-rtmp-module can then push a copy from an RTMP application to the corresponding YouTube ingest URL and stream key. The module documents application-level push routing in its README.
For the clearest separation, use one application per channel. The following is a configuration pattern, not a verified drop-in file: replace the placeholders with the server URL and key shown for each YouTube stream, and confirm that your installed module build accepts the destination URL format.
rtmp {
server {
listen 1935;
chunk_size 4096;
application channel_one {
live on;
push rtmp://<youtube-ingest-host>/<app>/<channel-one-key>;
}
application channel_two {
live on;
push rtmp://<youtube-ingest-host>/<app>/<channel-two-key>;
}
}
}
The encoder sends each feed to its matching application, for example rtmp://<your-server>:1935/channel_one/<input-name> and rtmp://<your-server>:1935/channel_two/<input-name>. The application component in the local RTMP URL must match an application {} block; verify how the specific build handles the remaining stream name and outgoing destination path.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Choose a routing pattern
| Pattern | Practical advantage | Check before relying on it |
|---|---|---|
| Separate applications | Each input has a visibly distinct route and its own destination key, making isolation and independent testing easier. | Confirm the exact module build accepts the destination URL format and maps each application as intended. |
| One application with distinct stream names and conditional routing | Can reduce the number of application blocks when stream-name routing is deliberately configured. | The module README establishes application-level pushes; it does not establish every conditional naming variation. Confirm routing behavior on the deployed build before using it. |
Prefer separate applications unless you have verified that your module build routes distinct stream names exactly as intended. A reported configuration issue describes separate applications and separate keys but found both destinations receiving the first input in that particular setup. It is a warning about a possible mapping failure, not evidence that every version behaves that way.
Set up and test both YouTube destinations
- Get each channel’s ingest details. In YouTube Live Control Room, create or select a live stream for each channel and copy that stream’s server URL and stream key. YouTube requires the encoder to use the server URL and key for its feed; see its stream-key guidance.
- Put each destination only on its matching route. Configure channel one’s server URL and key under
channel_one, and channel two’s pair underchannel_two. Do not reuse a key as a shortcut for the second channel. - Protect the keys. Treat each stream key as a credential. YouTube describes keys as a stream’s “password and address.” If one is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and update the matching NGINX configuration.
- Publish a short test to the first application. Send representative audio and motion to the first local RTMP URL. Check that the first channel’s Live Control Room preview receives it and the second channel’s preview does not.
- Test the second application independently. Repeat with the second local URL, verify the second preview and stream health, and confirm the first destination is not receiving the wrong input. YouTube recommends testing representative content and monitoring stream health.
- Make the broadcasts public only after routing is confirmed. Check both previews and health indicators before changing either stream’s visibility or announcing it.
Match YouTube’s ingest settings
YouTube’s encoder settings page lists RTMP and RTMPS ingest, H.264, H.265 (HEVC), and AV1 video, frame rates up to 60 fps, AAC or MP3 audio, and constant bitrate (CBR) encoding. YouTube recommends RTMPS, an encrypted extension to RTMP. Confirm current supported options on that page when configuring your encoder.

Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Keyframes: use a 2-second interval; YouTube says not to exceed 4 seconds.
- Bitrate examples for H.264: YouTube lists 720p at 30 fps as 3 Mbps minimum and 8 Mbps recommended; 1080p at 30 fps as 5 Mbps minimum and 14 Mbps recommended; and 1080p at 60 fps as 6 Mbps minimum and 17 Mbps recommended. These are YouTube’s published ingest figures, not a measurement or guarantee of your connection.
- Audio and video: ensure the encoder uses a listed codec and representative audio is present in each test feed.
Plan server bandwidth and encoding capacity
NGINX sends an outgoing copy to each destination. If both channels stream at once, the server’s upstream connection must carry both outgoing feeds plus capacity for other network use. Do not size the link from one channel’s bitrate alone.
If you transcode separate outputs, account for the additional encoder workload as well as network capacity. The module documents push relay and FFmpeg transcoding features, but the CPU needed depends on your chosen transcoding setup; no universal capacity figure is established here. If the server is only relaying compatible incoming feeds, avoid assuming that it needs to transcode them.

Troubleshoot misrouted or unhealthy feeds
- Neither preview receives video: check that the encoder’s local URL uses the correct server address and port, and that its application path exactly matches an NGINX
application {}name. Then verify the configured YouTube server URL and key. - Both previews show the same input: stop both tests, check that each input uses its intended application and that each application’s
pushtarget has the correct key. Re-test one route at a time. A reported issue documents this symptom in one setup, so do not assume separate blocks alone prove correct mapping. - The stream connects but YouTube reports poor health: check encoder bitrate, CBR mode, keyframe interval, audio, and the network’s available upstream capacity. Compare the settings with YouTube’s current encoder guidance.
- One feed fails only when both are live: check whether the combined outgoing traffic exceeds available upload capacity. If transcoding is enabled, also inspect encoder workload and settings.
- A key was exposed or pasted into the wrong route: reset the affected key in Live Control Room, replace it only in the matching application, and repeat the isolated preview test.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep a pre-recorded YouTube stream running rather than relay live encoder feeds through your own server, StreamNeo is a cloud option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploads stream as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo plays uploaded video and streams to YouTube only; it is not a camera feed or a replacement for the two-input NGINX relay described above.
