XSplit Broadcaster Settings for a 24/7 Bhajan Stream on YouTube in India

A practical XSplit setup for streaming bhajans on YouTube in India, including encoder settings, scheduled events, 24-hour replay considerations, rights checks, and fixes for common problems.

For a mostly static bhajan stream, start with 1080p at 30 fps, H.264 video at a constant 5 Mbps, a 2-second keyframe interval, and stereo AAC audio at 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz. These are platform-aligned starting settings, not an India-specific preset: test XSplit from the actual streaming location and lower the resolution or bitrate if the connection cannot sustain the feed. Before going live, enable YouTube Live and confirm that you have the rights to every recording and composition you plan to broadcast.

Recommended XSplit settings for a bhajan stream

For a devotional image or other largely static visual paired with music, use this baseline in XSplit Broadcaster. It applies YouTube’s general encoder guidance; YouTube does not provide a separate India profile in the guidance cited here.

Setting Starting value Why it matters
Resolution and frame rate 1920 Ă— 1080 at 30 fps A practical baseline for a static scene. If the upload connection or encoder cannot sustain it, test 1280 Ă— 720 at 30 fps.
Video codec H.264 A platform-aligned codec; use a codec supported by the current XSplit output and your hardware.
Rate control CBR (constant bitrate) Keeps the configured video bitrate consistent.
Video bitrate at 1080p30 5 Mbps starting point YouTube’s current H.264 guidance lists 5 Mbps as the minimum and 14 Mbps as recommended for 1080p30. The recommended figure is not mandatory; choose a rate your connection sustains.
Video bitrate at 720p30 3 Mbps minimum; 8 Mbps recommended YouTube’s current H.264 guidance for 720p30. Lower resolution can be a better choice than an unstable 1080p feed.
Keyframe interval 2 seconds Matches YouTube’s guidance; do not exceed 4 seconds.
Audio codec and bitrate AAC stereo, 128 kbps Platform-aligned stereo audio settings.
Audio sample rate 44.1 kHz YouTube’s listed stereo sample rate.
Transport RTMPS where available YouTube recommends encrypted RTMPS transport. Confirm the selected XSplit output supports it.
Video format Progressive, square pixels, Rec. 709 for SDR These match YouTube’s general format guidance for standard dynamic range.

The bitrate figures are YouTube’s general H.264 guidance, current as accessed in 2026. They are not guarantees of quality or stability at a particular Indian ISP, venue, or time of day.

Prepare YouTube Live before configuring the event

Do not leave channel activation until just before the broadcast. XSplit’s YouTube Live guidance says the channel must be verified and free of live-streaming restrictions in the prior 90 days; first-time activation can take up to 24 hours.

  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
  1. Verify the YouTube channel and enable live streaming in YouTube. Resolve any channel restrictions before scheduling the program.
  2. Allow time for initial activation to complete. If the channel has not previously streamed, plan for the possibility that enablement takes up to 24 hours.
  3. Create the live event in YouTube Studio if you want a scheduled broadcast. Set its title, description, privacy, and timing there, and confirm it is the intended event before connecting XSplit.

Build the scene and connect XSplit to YouTube

  1. Create a scene. Add the bhajan visual, any title or other on-screen text, and the intended audio source. Play the source through a full loop or representative section and check that the transition does not introduce silence or an abrupt cut.
  2. Check the audio mix. Confirm that the music is audible and that unintended desktop sounds or microphone input are not being sent. If you do want a spoken introduction, test its level against the music before the event.
  3. Choose XSplit’s native YouTube output. Use the Broadcast menu to create or select the YouTube output, then authorize the channel. XSplit’s labels and dialog can change between versions, so follow the current interface rather than relying on an old screenshot.
  4. Fill in the broadcast details. Review the title, description, tags, category, privacy, latency, and DVR options in the output dialog. Select the correct scheduled event if you created one in YouTube Studio.
  5. Set the encoder values. In the output’s encoder settings, enter the resolution, frame rate, H.264 codec, CBR rate control, video bitrate, keyframe interval, and AAC audio values from the table. XSplit’s exact control names can vary with version and output configuration.
  6. Test the actual feed. Send a private or otherwise appropriate test event, listen on another device, and inspect YouTube’s stream-health information. Include representative sound and any motion that will occur in the real program.

Choose between 1080p30 and 720p30

For a static devotional image, a stable stream is generally more useful than a higher bitrate that the uplink cannot hold. Compare the two profiles against conditions at the place where the encoder will run.

  • Sustained upload: YouTube lists a 5 Mbps minimum and 14 Mbps recommended for H.264 1080p30, versus 3 Mbps minimum and 8 Mbps recommended for H.264 720p30. Leave headroom beyond the configured stream bitrate for network variation and other devices sharing the connection.
  • Visual detail: 1080p may help preserve small text or fine artwork. A simple, static image usually has less motion than a camera feed, but that does not remove the need for a reliable uplink.
  • Encoder capacity: Check that the computer can encode continuously without falling behind. The appropriate setting depends on the actual CPU or GPU and the selected encoder.
  • Viewer connections: Consider the connection quality of the intended audience as well as the broadcaster’s upload. Test the stream at the target resolution rather than assuming a speed-test result alone predicts performance.

A speed test is only a snapshot. Validate the XSplit feed itself and monitor stream health while live; lower resolution or bitrate if the actual connection shows instability.

Start a scheduled YouTube event from XSplit

After creating the event in YouTube Studio, select it from XSplit’s Live Event list. The Manual Transition setting determines whether starting the XSplit broadcast also takes the event live.

  1. Select the intended Live Event in the YouTube output settings.
  2. Check whether Manual Transition is enabled. If it is enabled, XSplit can send the stream while the event remains waiting; an operator must then press Go Live in YouTube Studio.
  3. If Manual Transition is disabled, starting the XSplit broadcast can start the YouTube event automatically. Use this only when the event details and timing are ready.
  4. Once live, confirm the public event is showing the expected picture and audio and keep an eye on YouTube’s stream-health indicators.

Use a stream key only when the native output is not suitable

XSplit also supports a Custom RTMP output: enter YouTube’s stream URL and stream key in that output. For the usual YouTube workflow, the native integration is simpler because it authorizes the channel and lets you select the event. Treat the key as a password: do not show it on screen, share it, or leave it in a public post. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio before using it again.

Plan around YouTube replay limits for a 24/7 channel

Google’s live production guide says, “All streams under 12 hours will be archived.” That statement supports planning shorter events when a complete YouTube replay matters; it does not establish that every stream longer than 12 hours will necessarily end at that point. A single uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast is not a dependable way to guarantee a complete replay.

  • If you need an archived event, plan sessions under 12 hours and restart between them.
  • If you need a separate continuous copy, arrange local recording and storage independently; do not assume the YouTube archive will preserve the whole 24-hour stream.
  • For a long-running channel, decide in advance who will monitor handoffs, scheduled-event transitions, and any interruption.

Confirm music rights before broadcasting bhajans

Devotional subject matter does not automatically grant permission to livestream a particular recording. Rights can apply to the composition, arrangement, and specific sound recording, so check the exact material and the planned use with the relevant rights holder. YouTube for Artists advises: “If you’re planning on using copyright-protected music during your live stream, we recommend coordinating with your label or distributor to avoid any issues, such as copyright strikes.” Coordinate channel allowlisting with the rightsholder if it is required. The available guidance does not establish that any particular bhajan recording is public domain or cleared for this use.

Troubleshoot common setup problems

Symptom Likely issue What to check
YouTube Live is unavailable The channel is not verified, has a live-stream restriction, or initial activation is not complete. Check channel eligibility and restrictions, and allow time for first-time activation, which XSplit says can take up to 24 hours.
The stream disconnects, buffers, or reports poor health The upload link may not sustain the configured bitrate, or other network use may be consuming headroom. Inspect YouTube’s stream health and the actual encoder feed. Reduce bitrate or move from 1080p30 to 720p30; test with other network users and devices in their normal state.
Video is visible but the bhajan is silent or distorted The wrong source may be selected, the mix may be muted, or levels may be unsuitable. Check the selected audio source and XSplit mixer, then listen to a test from another device. Confirm stereo AAC, 128 kbps, and 44.1 kHz.
The scheduled event is not publicly live after XSplit starts Manual Transition may be enabled, leaving a separate Studio action. Check the event in YouTube Studio and press Go Live if the event is waiting for manual transition.
The stream starts on the wrong event The wrong Live Event may be selected in XSplit. Stop before broadcasting publicly, choose the correct event from the Live Event list, and verify its title and schedule.
A live music claim or strike appears The exact recording or composition may not be cleared for the broadcast, or the channel may need rightsholder coordination. Pause or stop as appropriate, review the rights for the specific material, and contact the rights holder or distributor. Do not assume that a devotional or traditional song recording is automatically free to use.

Or let it run in the cloud

If keeping an XSplit computer and home or venue connection running around the clock is the part you want to avoid, StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for uploaded videos: upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops the uploads from the cloud, so your computer can be off. Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, playlists and 24/7 looping, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and StreamNeo team support. Uploaded video is streamed as made, up to 4K 60fps, with one flat price per slot rather than quality tiers.

  • Nothing has to stay powered on at home.
  • Any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps is supported at one price per slot.
  • Automatic recovery is included if YouTube drops the stream.
  • The first day is free, with no card required; one free day is available per account.
