You can use Streamlabs Desktop to broadcast a playlist of devotional bhajans as a YouTube Live stream, but a local setup is not an unattended uptime guarantee: the computer, playback source, power, software and internet connection all need to keep working. First enable YouTube Live, then create an encoder stream, connect Streamlabs, test the audio and visuals, and arrange monitoring and recovery. Use only recordings and compositions cleared for livestreaming.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled. YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
- Streamlabs Desktop and access to the YouTube account that will host the stream.
- A bhajan playlist or recording you are authorized to broadcast, plus any visual elements you plan to show.
- A computer, power supply and internet connection capable of running the encoder and sending the stream continuously.
Streamlabs Desktop is presented by Streamlabs as a free download; its page also describes paid Ultra features, but the basic workflow below does not require an Ultra upgrade. See Streamlabs’ YouTube streaming page.
Set up YouTube Live and create an encoder stream
- Enable live streaming. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and complete the channel’s live-stream activation if prompted. Allow for YouTube’s stated possible first-time activation wait of up to 24 hours.
- Create the broadcast. In Live Control Room, create a stream and set its title, description, visibility and other details. Schedule it if you want viewers to be able to find it before it begins.
- Choose the connection method. YouTube’s encoder workflow provides a server URL and stream key. Keep the key private: treat it like access information for broadcasting to the channel.
YouTube’s encoder help explains the Live Control Room and encoder connection workflow.
Connect Streamlabs Desktop to YouTube
- Sign in or authorize YouTube. Streamlabs’ documented setup allows signing in with YouTube credentials. Follow the current on-screen prompts; interface labels may change.
- Use the manual encoder details if needed. In Streamlabs’ streaming settings, choose the custom/server connection option if presented, then enter the YouTube server URL and stream key copied from Live Control Room. Do not share or display the key.
- Set up the broadcast details. Add or confirm the title, description, category and thumbnail in the Streamlabs flow or YouTube Studio, as applicable.
- Confirm before going live. Use Streamlabs’ Confirm & Go Live flow when available, then check Live Control Room for an incoming signal and stream health.
Streamlabs’ YouTube setup guide covers account connection, scenes and sources, and the go-live flow. Use YouTube’s server URL and key when following its manual encoder instructions.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Build a simple bhajan scene
- Add the authorized playback source. In a Streamlabs scene, add the source that plays your bhajan recording or playlist. Confirm that the correct audio is reaching the stream, not just your local speakers.
- Add an appropriate visual. A still devotional image or a visualizer can accompany the audio; these are creative choices, not requirements. Use visuals you have rights to show.
- Check the preview. Verify the image is framed as intended, the audio is audible and balanced, and no unrelated desktop content or notifications appear.
- Test the complete path. Run a short test before the planned broadcast and confirm that YouTube receives both the video and audio.
In Streamlabs, sources are the elements sent to the stream and are organized in scenes. The exact source names depend on how you play the authorized recording on your computer.
Choose settings the computer and connection can sustain
Streamlabs says resolution affects both stream quality and computer performance, and recommends 1280×720 as a balance for many systems. Treat that as a starting point, not a universal YouTube requirement. Its guidance describes x264 as CPU encoding and NVENC as GPU hardware encoding on compatible NVIDIA hardware. Choose an encoder and output settings your device can handle, then watch Streamlabs’ encoder indicators and YouTube’s stream-health status.

Your upload connection must sustain the configured output. Streamlabs warns that insufficient internet speed for the chosen bitrate can cause dropped frames. A wired Ethernet connection is a reasonable option when available, but it is not required and cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Streamlabs’ settings and getting-started guidance covers output quality and performance considerations.
Keep a local 24/7 stream running
“24/7” describes the goal, not a continuity promise. With Streamlabs running on your own computer, playback and broadcast depend on that machine, the source, power, software and network all continuing to operate. Plan how someone will notice a stopped source, connection loss, power interruption, software crash or YouTube interruption, and how they will restart the broadcast. YouTube’s encoder workflow and Streamlabs’ connection guidance do not establish an uptime guarantee for a local setup.

Clear music rights before broadcasting
A devotional subject or traditional composition does not by itself establish that a particular recording is cleared. The composition and the sound recording may have different rights holders. Obtain permission that covers the intended YouTube livestream and any replay or archive use; no specific bhajan or recording can be assumed to be cleared.
YouTube states: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” If it identifies third-party content, YouTube may replace the stream with a placeholder image and warn you to stop; continued use can result in a temporary interruption or termination. Even licensed content may be interrupted if the rights holder has not allowlisted the channel through Content ID. Ask the rights holder about allowlisting where needed, and check YouTube Studio if a stream stops. Read YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.

Understand the archive limit
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived after they end. That guidance does not promise a complete archive for a single 24-hour session. If a replay matters, consider shorter sessions and verify the resulting recording in YouTube Studio rather than advertising one full-day broadcast as a guaranteed complete video.

Quick Recap
Troubleshoot common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot start a YouTube broadcast | Live streaming has not been activated, or first-time activation is still processing. | Check Live Control Room and complete activation. YouTube says first-time enablement may take up to 24 hours. |
| Streamlabs does not connect to YouTube | Account authorization failed, or the server URL or stream key was entered incorrectly. | Reconnect through the current Streamlabs YouTube sign-in flow, or copy the URL and key again from the correct YouTube stream. Keep the key private. |
| YouTube receives no signal | The encoder is not sending, the wrong stream details are in use, or the stream has not been started in Streamlabs. | Confirm Streamlabs is streaming, check the selected YouTube stream and key, and watch Live Control Room for signal and health status. |
| Audio is missing or the wrong audio plays | The playback source or its audio routing is not reaching the stream. | Check the scene source and Streamlabs audio meters, listen to a test broadcast, and confirm the intended recording is audible before going live. |
| Video stutters or frames drop | The computer may be overloaded or the upload connection may not sustain the configured bitrate. | Lower output demands to fit the device and connection, check the encoder indicators, and consider wired Ethernet if practical. It can help with the connection path but does not prevent outages. |
| The live stream is interrupted after a rights match | YouTube has identified third-party content; licensing alone may not prevent a Content ID interruption if the channel is not allowlisted. | Review YouTube Studio and the copyright notice, stop using uncleared material, and contact the rights holder about permissions and allowlisting. |
| A complete 24-hour replay is not available | YouTube’s automatic archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours and does not guarantee a complete archive for a longer session. | Use shorter sessions if replay availability is important, then verify each archive in YouTube Studio. |
