“Encoder disconnected” means YouTube has stopped receiving the encoder’s stream; it does not, by itself, show whether the cause is OBS or another encoder, your computer, Wi-Fi, JioFiber, or YouTube’s ingest connection. Check the encoder and stream first, compare its local output with YouTube’s health status, then isolate the network path and run JioFiber diagnostics. The official guidance reviewed does not identify a single JioFiber-specific fix for this message.
1. Record the error and compare what each side sees
Before changing settings, note the exact Live Control Room health message and its timestamp. YouTube says health errors have timestamps and remain visible while unresolved; use the time to compare YouTube’s report with the encoder’s own log or status.
- Does the encoder report that it lost connection, or does it say it is still streaming?
- Does the encoder’s local preview or recording/archive continue without glitches?
- At the same time, do other devices or services in the home lose internet?
If the local output is healthy but YouTube loses the feed, YouTube identifies an outbound internet connection problem as one possible cause. 2. Check the encoder and stream configuration
Update and inspect the encoder
Install the latest available version of the encoder you use, then check its connection status, CPU load, local preview and recording/archive around the recorded error time. A local freeze, dropped frames or encoder error points toward a computer, software or encoding problem; a clean local output while YouTube loses signal shifts attention toward the outbound connection.

For a failure at stream startup, refresh the stream key
If the disconnection happens as you start the broadcast, YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance suggests getting a new stream key in Live Control Room and updating the encoder. Treat this as a startup-specific check, not a universal fix for a stream that drops after running normally.
Verify protocol, codec, bitrate and keyframes
Compare the encoder’s settings with YouTube’s current encoder stream settings. YouTube recommends RTMPS where the encoder supports it, a supported video codec and audio format, and constant bitrate. Its recommended keyframe frequency is 2 seconds; do not exceed 4 seconds. Choose the bitrate row for the actual resolution, frame rate and codec rather than copying a number for a different stream. For example, YouTube’s current H.264 table lists 5 Mbps minimum and 14 Mbps recommended for 1080p at 30 fps, and 6 Mbps minimum and 17 Mbps recommended for 1080p at 60 fps.

If RTMPS reports an SSL or timeout error
Check that the encoder is using the complete RTMPS server URL shown in Live Control Room and that the encoder supports RTMPS. If the URL appears correct, YouTube’s SSL guidance says you can try specifying port 443. See YouTube’s RTMPS troubleshooting guidance.
3. Test upload headroom and the local network
For a live stream, the relevant capacity is stable upload bandwidth, not the headline download speed on the JioFiber plan. YouTube says the total streaming bitrate must fit within available upload bandwidth and recommends leaving 20% extra headroom. Other people and devices using the same connection can reduce the capacity available to the encoder. If you send both a primary and backup stream, include the bitrate of both in the total. - Check the encoder’s configured bitrate and test upload performance while the home network is being used normally.
- Compare available upload capacity with the stream’s total bitrate, including a backup stream if used, and leave YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom.
- If practical, connect the encoder computer to the router by Ethernet and retry with a private or unlisted test stream. A Cat6 cable is one option for a wired test; Jio’s JioExtender6 guide documents connecting a computer through the unit’s LAN port. JioExtender6 guide
- If available, test through an independent connection, such as a phone hotspot, and compare the result with JioFiber.
These are isolation tests, not proof of who is responsible. If Ethernet works but Wi-Fi does not, investigate the in-home wireless path. If one internet connection works and another does not, that narrows the route to investigate but does not, on its own, establish an ISP fault. A download-only speed result or advertised plan speed cannot establish stable upload headroom.
4. Run JioFiber diagnostics and check the router only when indicated
Run diagnostics in MyJio
In MyJio, link your JioFiber account, open Home (or Fiber, depending on the app layout), go to JioCare and select Run Diagnostics. Jio says the tool checks connection health, router status, device configuration and Wi-Fi strength. It can report findings such as slow speed, low signal, router offline, configuration error, loose cable, speed drop or device overload. Use Jio’s basic checks when symptoms fit
Jio’s user guide advises checking that the fiber cable is firmly connected and not bent, then restarting the Home Gateway and allowing 3–5 minutes for its indicator to stabilize. If the router light is green but there is no connectivity, the guide suggests checking the plan, temporarily removing an external router or switch for a test, and disconnecting a VPN. Do not remove equipment required for the network, and do not factory-reset the router as a first-line response to a streaming error. JioFiber troubleshooting and user guide
Jio recommends restarting a router once a month as routine maintenance. A restart can be reasonable if the router is misbehaving, but it is not a guaranteed fix for recurring encoder disconnections. Jio: Restart your router periodically

5. Escalate with the evidence that identifies the failing path
- Several devices or services lose connectivity, or MyJio reports a line, router or outage issue: contact Jio support and provide the diagnostic result and time of the interruption.
- The encoder’s local preview or archive also glitches: investigate encoder software, computer load and stream configuration before treating it as a JioFiber issue.
- Other internet services work, but YouTube ingestion fails across more than one connection: review the encoder settings and YouTube Live Control Room diagnostics, then report the unresolved issue to YouTube.
The official guidance reviewed does not establish a JioFiber-wide YouTube ingest outage, a JioFiber-specific port block, or one router setting that fixes this exact message. For an individual stream, the useful evidence is the encoder log and local output, YouTube’s timestamped health status, realistic upload results and MyJio’s diagnostic findings.
