How to Set Up a YouTube Live Loop for a Gujarati News Bulletin Playlist

Use OBS Studio to loop one bulletin file or a playlist of Gujarati news clips into a YouTube Live event, with setup, testing, and troubleshooting steps.

To loop a Gujarati news bulletin playlist as a YouTube Live broadcast, use OBS Studio: add a VLC Video source for several clips and enable Loop Playlist, or use a Media Source with Loop for one combined file. Connect OBS to a YouTube Live event with its stream URL and key, test the full sequence, then start and supervise the broadcast. This is a computer-based setup: OBS, your files, and a working internet connection must remain available while it runs.

Before you build the broadcast

  • Confirm livestreaming is available. YouTube requires the channel to be verified and to have had no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so check the channel in advance. YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance covers eligibility and activation.
  • Prepare cleared media. Arrange the bulletin clips in the intended order. Confirm Gujarati script, names, place spellings, and pronunciation against the channel’s approved version. Check that you have broadcast rights for all footage, music, graphics, and other third-party material; the workflow itself cannot establish those rights.
  • Choose the file arrangement. A single pre-rendered bulletin is simpler to manage as one source. Separate clips make it easier to replace an individual segment, but require careful testing of order and transitions.

Choose how OBS will repeat the bulletin

Situation OBS source Repeat setting What to know
One combined bulletin file Media Source Enable Loop Simplest source setup; the whole file repeats.
Several clips to play in sequence VLC Video Enable Loop Playlist Requires VLC installed on the computer; individual segments can be replaced more easily.

OBS documentation lists common formats including MP4, TS, MOV, FLV, MKV, AVI, GIF, and WebM. Confirm that your chosen files play correctly in the source before scheduling. OBS Media Sources documentation describes these source options. OBS looping repeats media inside the broadcast; it is not YouTube’s viewer-side option for repeating a video or playlist.

Set up the loop in OBS

  1. Create a scene. In OBS, add a scene for the bulletin broadcast and add the source matching your files: VLC Video for a sequence, or Media Source for one combined file.
  2. Load and order the clips. For VLC Video, select the bulletin files and arrange them in the intended running order. Enable Loop Playlist. For a single file in Media Source, enable Loop.
  3. Check picture and sound. Verify that the image fits the intended layout, audio is audible and consistent, and no clip is missing or unexpectedly silent. Play through the transitions, including the return from the final item to the first.
  4. Keep the playback assets available. The source plays local media through OBS. Keep the computer and files available for the duration of the broadcast, and avoid moving or renaming playlist files after setup.

Create a YouTube Live event and connect OBS

  1. Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room. Create or schedule the stream, then locate its stream URL and stream key.
  2. In OBS, open its streaming settings and enter the YouTube stream URL and key. The key authorizes the encoder to send video to the event; treat it like a password. YouTube describes stream keys as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” Keep the key private. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and update OBS. See YouTube’s guidance on managing live stream settings.
  3. Start the OBS output and wait for the incoming preview in Live Control Room. Do not assume the public event is ready until the preview and stream health indicators are satisfactory.

Test, schedule, and supervise

  • Run a realistic test. YouTube recommends testing with audio and movement similar to the actual broadcast. Check the picture, audio, playlist order, and end-to-start transition in the Live Control Room; use an unlisted test if appropriate.
  • Allow time before a scheduled bulletin. YouTube recommends setting up an encoder stream at least two hours beforehand and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before a scheduled event.
  • Leave bandwidth headroom. YouTube recommends that total streaming bitrate fit available upload bandwidth and specifies 20% headroom. A wired connection and a backup plan are sensible operational precautions, but they do not guarantee an uninterrupted broadcast.
  • Monitor the running stream. Confirm the live preview and audience-facing watch page, then keep an eye on stream health, audio, video, network status, and playlist progression. The OBS method depends on the computer, OBS, local files, and connection continuing to operate.

What happens at the end of a loop or broadcast?

The loop repeats media within a single OBS-fed broadcast; it does not establish that YouTube will create one uninterrupted archive of unlimited length. YouTube says live streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. The cited guidance does not establish that a single loop produces an uninterrupted archive beyond that duration, so do not rely on that outcome without checking YouTube’s current documentation. YouTube’s live-stream archiving guidance explains the archive limit.

Live Redirect is an end-of-stream handoff to a Premiere or another live stream, not a way to loop bulletin clips inside the current broadcast. YouTube’s stated eligibility requires more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guideline strikes. See YouTube’s Live Redirect guidance.

Troubleshooting common loop problems

Symptom Likely cause What to check or do
Live streaming is unavailable for the channel The channel is not verified, has a recent live-streaming restriction, or first-time activation is still pending. Check channel eligibility and activation in YouTube Studio; first-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
VLC Video is missing from OBS sources VLC is not installed. Install VLC on the computer running OBS, then reopen OBS and check the source list.
The playlist stops after the final clip Loop Playlist is not enabled, or the wrong source type was used. For multiple files, use VLC Video and enable Loop Playlist; for one combined file, use Media Source and enable Loop. Test the wraparound before going live.
A clip is missing or plays out of order The playlist selection or ordering does not match the intended bulletin sequence. Review the selected files and their order in the VLC Video source, then run the sequence through the final transition.
YouTube does not receive the OBS feed The stream URL or key is incorrect, or the encoder output is not running. Check the event’s URL and key in Live Control Room against OBS settings. If the key may have been exposed, reset it and replace it in OBS.
Preview has no sound, a bad transition, or unstable health The issue may be in the source media, scene, playlist transition, or available upload bandwidth. Test with realistic audio and motion; inspect the incoming preview and stream health; verify that bitrate fits the available upload bandwidth with YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom.
The broadcast stops when the computer or connection fails The local OBS workflow depends on the computer, source files, OBS, and internet connection staying available. Restore the computer or connection and reconnect the encoder; plan for monitoring and a backup connection if continuity matters. YouTube’s guidance does not guarantee uninterrupted delivery.
