Sometimes—but it depends on the software. YouTube’s player API documents how to load or cue videos and playlists; that does not mean a third-party app automatically deletes a video from its own queue after playback. Check the exact application and version for a remove-after-playback setting, or test with a disposable queue on a private stream.
Why playback does not prove a video will be removed
A player queue and an application’s playlist are not necessarily the same thing. YouTube’s IFrame Player API documents functions for loading or cueing a video, playlist, or list of videos. Those playback controls do not establish that a separate application will delete a completed item from its own queue.
YouTube’s live stream settings guidance covers stream configuration, scheduling, and encoder controls. It does not document a general YouTube setting that removes played videos from an external playout queue.
What the documented examples do—and do not—say
| Tool or feature | Documented behavior | Automatic removal after playback |
|---|---|---|
| Upstream hosted playlist controls | Add, remove, and rearrange files; play a file on demand during a stream without interrupting it. | Not confirmed by the cited guide. |
| 24/7 Playout OBS plugin | Manage a continuous playlist or rundown, including manually removing entries. | Not stated in the feature description. |
| OBS Live Stream Segmenter | Automate broadcast tasks using YouTube APIs, including broadcast renewal. The listing specifies OBS Studio 31.1.1 or later and was published January 13, 2026. | Broadcast renewal is not queue cleanup; automatic removal is not documented there. |
These examples show why “24/7 streaming software” is not one uniform feature set. Live editing, manual removal, broadcast renewal, and automatic deletion after playback are different behaviors.

How to verify a specific app
- Identify the product and version. A feature may differ between releases or configurations, so do not rely on a general description of “24/7 software.”
- Search its current settings and documentation. Look for wording such as “remove after playback,” “delete played items,” or queue cleanup. Confirm whether the rule applies to one-time items, repeating playlists, or both.
- Ask the vendor if the wording is unclear. Request confirmation of what happens to a completed item and whether it is removed from the playlist, the current queue, or both.
- Test safely if needed. Use a private stream and a disposable queue. Add a short test video, let it finish, then check whether the entry remains and whether the next item plays as expected.
Do not assume a playlist edit means automatic cleanup: the documented Upstream example supports live edits, while the OBS plugin description lists manual removal. Neither cited description confirms automatic post-play removal.

StreamNeo is separate from YouTube’s player API and from the OBS examples above. It plays uploaded videos to YouTube; the facts available here do not establish that it automatically deletes an individual video from a queue after it has played. If queue cleanup is essential, confirm that behavior before choosing any service.
Or let it run in the cloud
Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded videos from the cloud, so no computer or home connection has to stay on. It supports any quality up to 4K 60fps as uploaded at one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card; the monthly option is $9.99 per month. Visit StreamNeo or start the free first day.
