YouTube’s documented approach is to schedule each video as its own Premiere, then add the scheduled videos to a playlist and arrange them in the order you want. The playlist groups the videos; each Premiere remains a separate scheduled event with its own watch page and start time.
What a playlist Premiere means on YouTube
A YouTube Premiere is a shared, scheduled viewing of a new video. Before it begins, YouTube creates a public watch page where viewers can set reminders, comment, and chat. At the scheduled time, viewers watch together; after the event, the video remains on your channel as a regular upload. YouTube’s help page describes Premieres as a way for creators and viewers to “watch and experience a new video together in real time.” YouTube Help: Premiere a new video.
YouTube documents Premiere setup for individual videos and documents playlists as a way to group and order videos. Its available instructions do not describe a playlist-wide or bulk Premiere control, so use the per-video workflow below rather than treating the playlist as one event.
Schedule each video as a Premiere
- Open YouTube Studio and upload a video. Add the title, description, thumbnail, audience setting, and other video details as you normally would.
- Choose when it should go live. To start after processing, select Public and Set as instant Premiere. To schedule it, choose Schedule, enter the date and time, and select Set as Premiere.
- Review the countdown options. You can customize the countdown theme and length where those options are available. Finish scheduling the video.
- Repeat for every video. Each video needs its own Premiere setup and start time. Keep a list of the dates and times so you can communicate the sequence clearly.

Add the scheduled videos to a playlist and set their order
- Create or open a playlist in YouTube Studio or on YouTube.
- Add each scheduled video to the playlist. If a video does not appear immediately, confirm that it has finished processing and that you are managing the correct channel.
- Arrange the playlist order using the playlist controls. Put the videos in the sequence you want viewers to follow; playlist order does not change each video’s individual Premiere time.
- Save and check the playlist from a viewer-facing page to make sure the videos appear in the intended order.

Promote each Premiere before its start
Share the watch page for each scheduled Premiere, not only the playlist link, so viewers can find the specific event and set a reminder. YouTube recommends scheduling at least 24 hours ahead to give the thumbnail time to appear in subscribers’ feeds. Viewers who set reminders receive one about 30 minutes before the event and another when it begins. See YouTube Premiere tips.

During the Premiere, viewers can rewind but cannot skip ahead of the live point. After it ends, the video remains available as a regular upload, and chat replay is available. These behaviors mean the playlist helps people navigate the collection, but does not turn sequential videos into one continuous group viewing.
Check format, eligibility, and monetization limits
- Supported video types: Shorts are not supported as Premieres. YouTube’s current help guidance also excludes 360/VR180 video and output above 1080p.
- Channel standing: a Community Guidelines strike can freeze a scheduled Premiere; reschedule for after the penalty period.
- Trailers: YouTube lists trailer eligibility as more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. A trailer must be 15 seconds to 3 minutes, comply with content and rights rules, and cannot be a video that has already premiered.
- Ads and fan features: eligible advertising channels may have pre-roll ads during a Premiere. Mid-roll and post-roll ads are unavailable during the event. Super Chat, Super Stickers, and eligible members-only chat may also be options.
