Netflix’s April 11, 2024 announcement introduced two Archewell nonfiction series in early production: a lifestyle series curated by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and a series about professional polo. At that point, Netflix had not announced either project’s title or release date. The streamer later identified the released projects as With Love, Meghan and Polo.
What were the two Netflix series about?
| Project announced in April 2024 | Subject and approach | Production partners and credits named by Netflix |
|---|---|---|
| Meghan’s lifestyle series | Curated by Meghan, it would celebrate cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship. | Michael Steed was named director; Meghan and Chanel Pysnik were named Archewell executive producers; Leah Hariton was named showrunner. The Intellectual Property Corporation was also listed. |
| Professional polo series | A look at professional polo, filmed primarily at the US Open Polo Championship in Wellington, Florida. Netflix said it would go beyond the sport’s aesthetic and social scene to examine what competing at the highest level takes. | Boardwalk Pictures was named as producer. Executive producers listed were Prince Harry, Meghan, Chanel Pysnik, Andrew Fried, Sarina Roma, Dane Lillegard, Miloš Balać, and Ian Samplin. |
Netflix described both as nonfiction series being made by Archewell Productions under its multiyear deal with the streamer. The concepts pointed in different directions: one toward domestic pursuits and hosting, the other toward the demands of elite competition.
What had Netflix confirmed—and what was still unknown?
On April 11, Netflix said both projects were in the early stages of production and that their titles and release dates would be announced later. The announcement therefore did not establish episode counts, premiere schedules, or further casting details. Its headline’s reference to two new series meant projects entering production, not two finished shows with confirmed launch dates.
What happened to the projects afterward?
In a global partnership update published August 11, 2025, Netflix listed With Love, Meghan and Polo among the projects Archewell had released for the service. That later update also said the collaboration, which began in 2020, had been extended through a multiyear first-look deal covering Archewell film and television projects. The 2025 update is later context; it should not be confused with what Netflix had disclosed in April 2024.
