Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →For a prerecorded YouTube video that must repeat continuously, OBS Studio is the better-documented option: its Media Source has a Loop setting that replays a file when it ends. Streamlabs Talk Studio documents scheduling and uploading prerecorded video, but its public guide does not confirm continuous looping. Choose Talk Studio for its browser-based scheduling workflow only if you have verified that its current playback behavior meets your needs.
The documented distinction is the same in India as elsewhere; the sources reviewed do not establish India-specific technical settings or optimization. The practical variables are your local connection, power, data limits, and the workflow you prefer.
What each tool documents for prerecorded playback
OBS Studio: a loop control for a local file
OBS’s official Media Sources documentation describes adding media files to a scene and provides a Loop property. Turn it on to play the file again when playback completes; the documented default is Off. OBS lists common formats including MP4, TS, MOV, FLV, MKV, AVI, GIF, and WebM.
For a playlist rather than one file, OBS documents a VLC Video source with a Loop Playlist property. VLC must be installed on the computer. For one video, Media Source is the more direct route.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Streamlabs Talk Studio: scheduled prerecorded uploads
Streamlabs describes Talk Studio as a web-based platform. Its prerecorded workflow lets you schedule a stream, choose destinations, select the prerecorded-video option, upload a file, and enter details such as title, description, date, time, and thumbnail. The public guide establishes scheduled prerecorded playback, but does not state that one uploaded video repeats continuously. Verify current behavior in Talk Studio before relying on it for an uninterrupted loop.
Talk Studio’s documented video clips are for uses such as intros or outros; that is different from confirming that the main program loops indefinitely. Streamlabs’ general guide says the service is free to use and subscriptions offer additional perks, but check its current product information for present plan details and entitlements.

Which fits your YouTube stream?
| Decision | OBS Studio | Streamlabs Talk Studio |
|---|---|---|
| Continuous repeat | Official Media Source documentation explicitly provides Loop for replaying a file after it ends. | The reviewed prerecorded guide documents upload and scheduling, not continuous repeat looping. |
| Production workflow | Desktop software: add media as a source in a scene and configure playback there. | Browser-based studio workflow with scheduling and production controls described in its guide. |
| Best fit | A creator who needs a documented repeat control for a local file and wants a desktop scene workflow. | A creator who prioritizes browser-based scheduling and prerecorded upload, and does not depend on unverified looping behavior. |
| YouTube connection | Use YouTube’s server URL and stream key with the encoder workflow. | Talk Studio offers destination setup; Streamlabs’ forwarding guide also describes passing an ingest URL and key to OBS or another third-party platform. |
These are documentation-based distinctions, not results from a live-broadcast test. In particular, a documented loop control does not guarantee a particular computer or network will keep a stream running without interruption.
How to live stream a prerecorded video on YouTube with OBS
- Prepare the video and rights. Confirm that you have the necessary rights to the video and audio before broadcasting. YouTube’s live settings include rights-management controls, but using OBS does not establish that you have permission or that your channel is eligible for monetization.
- Create or schedule the YouTube livestream. In YouTube Studio or the Live Control Room, set up the stream and its details. YouTube’s encoder instructions use a server URL and stream key to connect an encoder. Treat the key as a credential: YouTube says it functions like the stream’s password and address, so do not publish or share it.
- Add the video in OBS. In the scene you intend to broadcast, add a Media Source and select the local file. OBS supports common formats including MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, and WebM. Make sure the intended scene remains active.
- Enable repeat playback. Open the Media Source properties and turn on Loop. OBS documents this setting as replaying the file after it finishes; it is Off by default. If you want a playlist, use the VLC Video source and its Loop Playlist option instead, with VLC installed.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. Enter the YouTube server URL and stream key in the encoder’s stream connection settings, then start the encoder and follow YouTube’s Live Control Room status. Keep the key private; if it is compromised, YouTube documents resetting it.
- Check the stream before leaving it unattended. Confirm that YouTube receives the stream, that the picture and audio are present, and that playback restarts at the end of the file. A local loop setting does not test power, computer stability, encoder configuration, or network reliability.
Upload speed, equipment, and India-specific checks

| Resolution | Streamlabs guide: required upload | Streamlabs guide: recommended upload |
|---|---|---|
| 720p | 5 Mbps | 10 Mbps |
| 1080p | 10 Mbps | 20 Mbps |
Measure sustained upload speed and stability at the location and time you plan to stream. Streamlabs recommends a stable connection and prefers Ethernet where possible. A wired connection is optional and depends on your computer and router having compatible ports; it cannot guarantee reliability. For long broadcasts in India, also check your ISP’s data limits and whether power and internet service remain dependable at the streaming location.
A webcam, microphone, and headphones are examples of typical equipment YouTube lists for casual streams. They are not prerequisites for playing a prerecorded file through OBS; they matter if you add live camera or voice commentary.

Scheduling, archives, and monetization
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. That is not a reason to assume that a stream running longer will have the same archive outcome. Plan the broadcast length with that limit in mind if the archive matters.
YouTube says livestream monetization is available to channels in the YouTube Partner Program. The software choice alone does not make a channel eligible; check your channel’s current YPP status and live monetization settings in YouTube Studio.

Common problems and what to check
- The video stops at the end. In OBS, reopen the Media Source properties and confirm Loop is enabled. For a playlist, check the VLC Video source’s Loop Playlist setting and confirm VLC is installed.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder feed. Check that the server URL and stream key match the values for the intended YouTube stream. Keep the key private; reset it in YouTube if you believe it has been exposed.
- The stream drops or becomes unstable. Check upload stability at the actual streaming location, compare it with Streamlabs’ resolution-specific guidance above, and consider Ethernet if your equipment supports it. These checks can help identify connection constraints but do not guarantee uninterrupted streaming.
- Talk Studio does not repeat the upload as expected. Its public prerecorded guide does not confirm continuous looping. Check the current product behavior before scheduling a long-running broadcast around that requirement.
- The broadcast is not monetized. Check whether the channel is in the YouTube Partner Program and review the current live monetization controls. A particular encoder or studio does not by itself establish eligibility.
