Castr says loops can be scheduled ahead for periods that depend on the plan. Its TV and radio broadcasting page describes lower tiers as 720p at 30 fps and Ultra and Events as 1080p at 25–60 fps; check the current plan matrix for the exact tier and limits before committing. YouTube’s Live Verified encoder directory lists Gyre and describes it as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 live streaming of prerecorded videos. AWS Elemental MediaLive: a configurable workflow
AWS describes MediaLive as a cloud-based service for real-time video encoding. Its documentation includes scheduled or dynamic input switching and links to an AWS CDK example that creates a channel looping an MP4 file. YouTube’s encoder directory also lists MediaLive. This makes it a plausible infrastructure choice for a team prepared to configure and operate a workflow, but the available sources do not establish the implementation effort or total cost for an individual channel.
What to check before choosing
- Playout model: Decide whether you need a simple looping playlist, a scheduled rundown that can include live programs, or a configurable encoding workflow.
- YouTube delivery: Confirm the provider’s current YouTube setup instructions, supported output path, and what happens if the stream disconnects. A YouTube directory listing is useful evidence of inclusion, not a product endorsement.
- Continuity ownership: Establish who monitors the stream, updates schedules, handles restarts, and responds to incidents. No independent comparative uptime or failure-rate evidence is available for these candidates.
- Operating limits: Check file count, file size and duration, loop scheduling horizon, resolution and frame rate, and whether output carries a watermark. For Castr, these vary by tier.
- Kids’ content and moderation: Set the audience accurately in YouTube Studio and plan for the features YouTube restricts. A playout provider does not decide the audience designation or override YouTube policy.
- Rights: Make sure you have the rights needed for every program, music track, image, and other element in the playlist. Continuous playback does not make copyrighted material permissible.
- Replay needs: Decide separately how you will record and publish complete replays; a continuous live broadcast is not itself a reliable archive workflow.

Choose the made-for-kids audience setting accurately
YouTube says creators must designate whether content is made for kids. When a video or live stream is set as made for kids, YouTube restricts certain features; examples include comments, live chat, personalized ads, cards and end screens, and some channel features. The designation depends on the content, not on which playout service sends it. Read YouTube’s made-for-kids settings guidance and apply the setting appropriately.

Do not confuse audience designation with rules about minors appearing live
YouTube separately warns that live streams featuring minors under 16 who are not visibly accompanied by an adult may be removed or have live chat disabled. This concerns streams featuring minors; it is distinct from whether a stream is designated made for kids. Review YouTube’s live-stream restrictions if minors appear in programming.
Plan for rights and monetization review
Confirm that you are entitled to stream all content in the loop, including third-party footage and music. Also assess whether your channel and programming meet YouTube’s current policies for monetization and reused content; a cloud playout service cannot grant rights or guarantee policy compliance. Review YouTube’s current rules directly before building a long-running schedule.

A 24/7 live stream is not a complete replay archive
YouTube says it can automatically archive live streams that are less than 12 hours long. If a stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all. YouTube also warns that DVR capabilities may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. Therefore, if complete replays matter, arrange an independent recording and publishing workflow instead of assuming a 24/7 broadcast will produce one complete archive.
YouTube recommends keeping a local recording as an archive backup. For a cloud-operated channel, plan where an independent recording will run and how you will divide, store, and publish it; the archive process is separate from choosing a playout provider.
