To loop Odia gospel songs on YouTube, load the church’s locally stored, rights-cleared tracks into an OBS Studio VLC Video source, enable Loop Playlist, and send OBS to YouTube Live Control Room using the stream URL and key. Preview the feed and monitor it while live. The playlist can repeat; that does not guarantee a YouTube broadcast will stay live indefinitely.
Choose the right OBS playback source
Use a VLC Video source for several songs in a chosen order, or a Media Source for a single track. These options loop the media locally; they do not restart an encoder or restore a YouTube broadcast after a disconnection.

Check the audio transitions and picture before the service; a source can loop correctly while the broadcast still has muted audio, an unsuitable image, or another output problem.
Check channel eligibility and song rights first
Confirm YouTube live access
YouTube says a channel needs to be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Check access before preparing a scheduled service. YouTube’s Get started with live streaming page describes eligibility.

Clear rights for each recording and its use
Before streaming, make sure the church has the necessary rights for every recording in the live feed and any resulting archive. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions place responsibility for the live content on the provider, including music licensing rights. Which permissions apply depends on the recording, rights holders, territory, and intended use; a general guide cannot determine a particular church’s licensing position.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content matches. A match can lead to a warning, a placeholder replacing the picture, interruption or termination, and copyright-strike consequences. If the church is licensed to use third-party material, ask the rights holder whether the channel must be added to its Content ID allowlist. A license by itself does not guarantee that a live stream will avoid interruption if allowlisting is required. See YouTube’s Copyright issues with live streams.

Set up OBS and connect it to YouTube
- Prepare the playlist. Store the permitted recordings on the computer that will run OBS. Put them in the intended play order. For multiple tracks, add a VLC Video source, add the files to its playlist, and enable Loop Playlist. For one track, add a Media Source and enable Loop. Confirm playback and audio in OBS.
- Create or select the YouTube stream. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create a stream or select the one prepared for the service. YouTube’s Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder guide covers the process.
- Enter the stream connection details in OBS. Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube into OBS’s stream settings. YouTube documents RTMP and RTMPS encoder settings and recommends RTMPS; use the connection option supported by your setup. Treat the key like a password. If it is exposed, a channel owner or manager can reset it in Live Control Room. See Manage live stream settings.
- Check the connection and output. Start streaming from OBS, then check the Live Control Room preview before going live. Verify that the expected song, image, and sound are reaching YouTube. YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions guidance recommends choosing settings the available upload connection can sustain and testing ahead.
- Go live and monitor. Start the broadcast in YouTube Live Control Room when the preview is correct. Watch stream health and messages during the service, and ensure the outbound connection has headroom; network interruptions can break the feed. YouTube’s Streaming tips provide further guidance.
Plan for a continuous service without assuming an endless broadcast
Looping keeps the local playlist cycling, but it does not make a single YouTube broadcast indefinite. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; that statement is not a promise that an individual broadcast can remain live forever. Plan human monitoring and a deliberate restart or broadcast schedule. If the internet, encoder, or YouTube connection fails, the media source may keep playing locally even though viewers have lost the stream.
YouTube supports software and hardware encoder workflows; the cited guidance does not establish that a church needs to buy a hardware encoder. Choose based on the setup the church already has and can operate reliably.

Troubleshoot interruptions and playback problems
- The song stops at the end instead of repeating: Check that Loop Playlist is enabled for the VLC Video source, or Loop is enabled for the single-file Media Source. Verify that the files were added to the intended source.
- OBS cannot use the VLC playlist: Install VLC. If OBS is 64-bit, OBS’s documentation specifies 64-bit VLC.
- YouTube receives no feed or the preview is wrong: Recheck the stream URL and key in OBS, confirm OBS is sending, and inspect the Live Control Room preview before starting the public broadcast.
- The stream becomes unstable: Check the connection’s upload capacity and use settings it can sustain with headroom. Test video and audio before the service and monitor YouTube’s stream-health messages.
- YouTube interrupts or blocks the broadcast: Check Live Control Room for warnings, restrictions, or strikes. Review the rights and any Content ID allowlisting with the rights holder, and resolve rights or policy issues before restarting. A looping playlist cannot undo a platform restriction or restore a terminated broadcast.
- The encoder disconnects but OBS media continues: Treat these as separate failure points. Restore the encoder-to-YouTube connection and confirm the Live Control Room preview before going live again; do not assume the media loop reconnects it automatically.
