Castr can broadcast a prerecorded MP4 to YouTube as a live stream and repeat it continuously, but Castr’s current product page lists continuous infinite looping on Premium and higher. Check the loop and file limits for your plan before relying on an all-day run. The broadcast is one shared live timeline—not an ordinary YouTube video that each viewer can start or loop independently.
What “looping on YouTube” means
Castr plays your uploaded file as a live broadcast and sends that broadcast to YouTube. Viewers join wherever the live stream is at that moment. This differs from uploading a normal YouTube video, which viewers can start on demand and replay individually. Castr describes its prerecorded streaming workflow and plan distinction on its prerecorded video streaming page.
How to loop one MP4 through Castr
- Create a prerecorded stream: In Castr, open Pre-Recorded Streams and create a stream. See Castr’s setup guide for the workflow.
- Upload your MP4: Castr’s guide says this feature supports MP4 files. File size, storage and the number of files depend on the subscription, so verify your account’s current limits before uploading.
- Set the schedule to Loop: Choose Loop so the playlist repeats. With one file in the playlist, that file repeats. Castr’s scheduling guide describes infinite looping as repeatedly sending the video to added platforms.
- Connect YouTube: Add YouTube as a destination, using Castr’s YouTube integration or YouTube’s streaming server and key. Castr documents both connection approaches in its YouTube connection guide.
- Enable the destination and start: Check that the YouTube destination is switched on, then start the stream.
- Confirm plan limits: Castr’s general help guide says prerecorded streaming is available across plans, while its product page identifies continuous infinite looping as a Premium-and-higher feature. Confirm the current plan’s loop, duration, file-size and storage allowances in your account before scheduling an extended stream.
Will YouTube save the whole all-day stream?
Do not count on YouTube creating a complete replay archive of an uninterrupted all-day broadcast. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If a replay matters, arrange a separate recording or plan shorter broadcasts within YouTube’s stated archive duration. See YouTube’s live archive guidance.
Copyright and monetization considerations
Rights to the MP4
Before streaming, make sure you have the necessary rights to every visual and audio element in the file, including music. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility for the required rights on the broadcaster.

Monetization is not guaranteed
The fact that a stream technically works does not establish that a channel or repeated video will qualify for monetization. YouTube’s channel monetization policies expect original, authentic content and identify repetitive or mass-produced material as a potential concern. Assess your channel and content against the current policy; do not assume that looping a file either guarantees or automatically rules out eligibility.
Common problems and what to check
- The loop option or continuous run is unavailable: Check whether your plan includes infinite looping and confirm its current limits with Castr.
- The upload is rejected: Confirm the file is MP4 and within your plan’s file-size and storage allowances.
- YouTube does not receive the broadcast: Verify that YouTube is added as a destination, its toggle is on, and the integration or server-and-stream-key connection is configured correctly.
- The replay is missing or incomplete: A stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured by YouTube. Use a separate recording or shorter broadcasts if preserving a replay is important.
- A copyright claim or monetization concern arises: Review the rights for all content in the file and YouTube’s current livestream and monetization policies.
