First confirm the channel can livestream, then create a broadcast in YouTube Studio, connect the stream key, and test the feed. Plan for interruptions and archiving: YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, so do not assume one uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast will produce a complete replay.
1. Clear the recordings and visuals before you build the playlist
Use songs, performances, recordings, and video images that you own or have permission to stream. Keep written records covering YouTube live transmission, the intended channel, relevant territories, and any replay or archive use you plan to allow.
A devotional, folk, bhajan, or traditional subject does not by itself mean a particular recording or arrangement is free of copyright restrictions. YouTube says, “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” A match can replace the image, interrupt the stream, or lead to termination.
If you have permission to use third-party music, ask the rights holder whether your channel must be added to its Content ID allowlist before going live. YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music to avoid problems such as copyright strikes. Permission to play a song does not necessarily mean Content ID will recognize that permission automatically.

2. Check that the channel can livestream
Before preparing a long-running feed, confirm the channel is verified, has no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and that the person streaming meets YouTube’s minimum age requirement of 16. YouTube notes that enabling live streaming for the first time may take up to 24 hours. Check the current prompts in YouTube Studio because eligibility and interface controls can change. 3. Choose how to send the playlist to YouTube
You need a prepared audio-video program and a way to transmit it to YouTube Live. The main choice is whether a computer or dedicated encoder will run locally, or a cloud service will keep the playlist running. YouTube documents both software and hardware encoders; a hardware encoder is optional, not a requirement. Choose a resolution and bitrate that your encoder, media, and connection can sustain, and check YouTube’s current encoder requirements rather than relying on a generic number. The appropriate settings depend on the source material and upload bandwidth; this guide does not prescribe a bitrate or resolution that may not fit your setup.
4. Create the YouTube Live broadcast and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio: select Create → Go Live. In the Live Control Room, use the Stream or Manage tab to create a broadcast or schedule one.
- Set the broadcast details: enter an accurate title and description, choose visibility, and configure the audience setting. Make clear that the feed is a continuous devotional playlist if that is what viewers will see.
- Copy the connection details: copy the server URL and stream key shown in YouTube Studio into the matching fields in your encoder. Keep the key private; anyone with access to it may be able to send video to your channel. Rotate it if it is exposed.
- Start a private or unlisted test: send the feed to YouTube and wait for the Live Control Room preview. Check the picture, audio level, playlist order, and transitions. Watch from a second device to catch problems that are not obvious at the encoder.
- Go live: once the preview is correct, start the broadcast from the encoder or the Live Control Room, depending on the workflow shown in Studio.

5. Make a real plan for a 24/7 feed
A continuous stream can fail even when the original setup is correct. Arrange for a person or system to notice silence, a frozen picture, an exhausted playlist, a network outage, an encoder crash, or a YouTube interruption. Decide who can restart the feed and how they will confirm that the preview and audio have returned. No encoder or service should be treated as a guarantee of uninterrupted uptime.
- Test playlist transitions, including the final item and what happens when the playlist reaches its end.
- Keep the original media files and a separate backup copy.
- Protect access to YouTube Studio and the stream key; limit access to people who need it.
- Document the restart steps and provide a way to check the feed from another device.
- Plan separately for a complete replay. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not promise a complete archived replay from one uninterrupted 24/7 stream; verify current archive behavior in Studio and consider shorter broadcasts or local recording if a full replay matters.

7. Understand monetization without assuming income
Eligible creators may be able to use ads, Super Chat and Super Stickers, and channel memberships on live streams. Eligibility and settings apply, and YouTube says ad slots are not guaranteed to serve. Going live by itself does not qualify a channel for monetization or guarantee revenue. YouTube for Artists reported that over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That is overall platform context, not a forecast for a Kannada devotional channel. YouTube also reported an average uplift of over 20% in instream ad revenue per hour for creators using automatic live mid-roll ads versus channels not using them, measured across 207 countries in January 2024. That platform-wide comparison is not an earnings estimate for an individual channel.
