To repeat an educational video while you watch, use YouTube’s Loop control; to repeat a sequence, use the playlist’s Loop control. Neither makes a video broadcast live. If you want prerecorded lessons to appear as a YouTube Live event, a creator must send a feed to YouTube through an encoder—or use a cloud service that does so.
Choose the right feature for your goal

Loop a regular educational video
These are YouTube’s documented controls for computer, Android, and TV or game console. YouTube’s help pages do not establish a precise iPhone or iPad menu path, so iOS users should look for the current repeat control in their app.
On a computer
- Open the video.
- Right-click inside the video player.
- Select Loop. YouTube documents the instruction as: “To repeat a video: Right Click in the video player. Click Loop.” See YouTube’s Loop videos or playlists help page.
On Android
- Open the video’s watch screen.
- Tap Settings → Additional settings → Loop video.
On a TV or game console
- While the video is playing, use the remote or controller to show playback controls.
- Select Repeat until the player indicates Repeat • Currently playing for one video or Repeat • Playlist for a playlist. The control may also be available in player Settings.
Loop a playlist of lessons
A playlist is useful when you want lessons to play in sequence and then repeat. The playlist must already exist and contain the videos you want to watch.
On a computer
- Play a video that belongs to the playlist.
- Expand the playlist panel.
- Turn on Loop in the playlist box.
On Android
- Start the playlist.
- Tap Loop in the playlist control box.
- Tap Loop again if you want to repeat one video within the playlist; YouTube indicates this mode with a 1 on the loop icon.
On a TV or game console
Use the playback controls to select Repeat until it indicates Repeat • Playlist.

For classroom assignments, Google recommends Player for Education, an embedded player for supported education technology tools. Google describes it as a simplified experience without ads or recommendations. It is not documented as a student-controlled Loop feature, so ask whether your school’s platform supports the player and how it handles repeated viewing.
Broadcast prerecorded lessons as a YouTube Live event
If you are the creator and want students to see prerecorded material in a live broadcast, the viewer’s Loop button is not enough. YouTube’s encoder workflow sends a feed from an encoder to the Live Control Room. YouTube’s instructions do not turn a viewer playlist into a live broadcast.

Check channel eligibility first
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Its current help page also says streamers must be at least 16. A student who only wants to watch can use the viewer controls above; do not ask a student under 16 to operate the stream. Check YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance for current requirements.
Set up the encoder stream
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and create a stream.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key from the Live Control Room into your encoder. Treat the key like a password: YouTube describes it as the credential that tells the encoder where to send the feed and allows YouTube to accept it.
- Configure the encoder to send the lesson feed. Encoder controls differ, so follow the instructions for the encoder you choose; the cited YouTube guide does not establish one universal bitrate, resolution, or keyframe setting for every setup.
- Start sending the feed. For a scheduled event, wait for the preview in Live Control Room, then start the event there.
- Test and monitor audio and video. YouTube recommends setting up the encoder at least two hours before an event, starting it at least 15 minutes beforehand, previewing before going live, and monitoring quality. These are recommendations for an encoder event, not requirements for looping a normal video.

School accounts may limit access
For K–12 Google Workspace for Education accounts, YouTube access is managed by the school. Google describes defaults under which YouTube is off for under-18 users unless enabled with parental consent, and says student accounts in the described school-account experience do not have access to live streams or live chat. Settings and features can change; this is not a claim that every Indian school account is configured the same way. If a video, live stream, or control is unavailable, ask your teacher or school administrator.
Understand live DVR and replay
DVR is not looping. When enabled, it can let viewers pause, rewind, and resume during a live event. YouTube warns that DVR may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours, and viewers cannot seek back to before the stream began. See YouTube’s DVR guidance.

YouTube’s encoder guide says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived and can be found in the Live area of YouTube Studio. An archive is a recording after the broadcast, not a way to make the event live again. Once a replay is published as a regular video or included in a playlist, use the ordinary video or playlist repeat controls.

Copyright and classroom suitability
Before broadcasting lessons, make sure you have the rights or permissions needed for the video, music, images, and other material. A video being available to watch on YouTube does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast it. For a classroom assignment, follow your school’s rules and ask whether its supported learning platform is appropriate; Google’s Player for Education information is at YouTube for Teachers.
