You can run a recorded webinar as a continuous YouTube Live stream, but scheduling a YouTube event alone will not play the recording. You need an encoder or cloud service to send the video to YouTube and keep it playing. For an unattended loop, StreamNeo is the first option to consider: it runs prerecorded video from the cloud, supports uploads up to 4K at 60 fps at one flat price per slot, and gives you a free first day.
How a 24/7 webinar stream works
A scheduled YouTube Live event creates a watch page and lets you promote the broadcast; it does not supply the video feed. You must connect an encoder or playback service to the event. YouTube describes an encoder as software or hardware that converts video into a format for streaming. The encoder or service uses the server URL and stream key shown in YouTube Studio to send your webinar recording.
For a single webinar, decide whether you want a finite broadcast or a recording that repeats indefinitely. Those are different workflows: a scheduled prerecorded broadcast can start automatically and end after a limited duration, while a 24/7 stream needs a source that supports continuous playback and recovery.
Check channel access and webinar rights
Confirm live streaming is enabled
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live-stream enablement can take up to 24 hours. YouTube also says live streamers must be at least 16. Check access before announcing a start time: YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance.

Review the complete recording
Make sure you have the rights needed to stream every part of the webinar, not just the main presentation. Check embedded music, slides, guest footage, clips, and sponsor material. YouTube’s live-stream terms require creators to hold the necessary rights for the content, including music licensing where applicable: YouTube Terms of Service.
Consider whether a loop fits the channel
YouTube’s monetization policies apply to live streams. The policy update dated July 15, 2025 renamed “repetitious content” as “inauthentic content” to clarify that repetitive or mass-produced material may be ineligible for monetization. A webinar loop is not a guarantee of monetization; eligibility depends on the channel and content, and YouTube says ads are not guaranteed to serve even when monetization is enabled. Review YouTube’s channel monetization policies and its guidance on ads during live streams.

Set up the YouTube Live event and connect playback
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create a stream or, if you want to promote a future start, open the Manage tab and schedule one. Scheduling handles the event page and reminders; it does not start the prerecorded feed by itself.
- Choose how the webinar will play. Use a local encoder if you want direct control and can keep the computer, network, and software running. For unattended playback, choose a cloud service that explicitly supports continuous prerecorded streaming and check its current looping, file, monitoring, and recovery limits.
- Copy the event’s server URL and stream key into the encoder or service. Use the values for the intended YouTube event. Treat the stream key as private: anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your stream. YouTube’s setup instructions explain the encoder connection at Set up your encoder for live streaming.
- Select the webinar file or playlist and configure repeat playback. Confirm that the selected source is the complete recording, that its audio is present, and that the playback service is set to loop or restart as intended. Available controls depend on the encoder or service.
- Start the encoder or service, then check Live Control Room. Verify that YouTube receives the feed and that the correct event is live. A scheduled event will not become a continuous webinar stream unless a feed is actually sent to it.
- Rehearse before public launch. Run a short private or unlisted test. Check video, audio, the transition at the end of the recording, stream status, and what happens after a connection interruption. The exact recovery behavior depends on the service or local setup, so confirm it rather than assuming playback will resume unattended.
Choose a playback method for continuous operation
The key distinction is where playback runs and how it handles interruption. A local encoder depends on your computer and connection staying available. A cloud service can play the uploaded recording without a dedicated home computer running, but its current plan limits and recovery behavior should be checked before you rely on it.
| Option | Best fit | Important trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Unattended, prerecorded YouTube playback from the cloud. | One always-on stream per slot, uploaded-video playback, playlists, and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream; one flat price per slot for uploaded quality up to 4K at 60 fps. YouTube only. |
| Local encoder such as OBS | A creator who wants direct control and can keep a streaming computer and connection available. | Requires local uptime and monitoring; continuity and recovery are your responsibility. YouTube lists OBS as open-source streaming software but does not promise unattended restart behavior. |
| Gyre | Cloud-based 24/7 prerecorded playback. | YouTube lists Gyre as a cloud tool for this use case. Check current plan limits, restart behavior, monitoring, file handling, and cost with the provider; the listing confirms the general use case, not every plan detail. |
| StreamYard prerecorded broadcast | A finite webinar broadcast that starts automatically. | Its documented maximum prerecorded video lengths are 2 hours on Core, 4 hours on Advanced, and 8 hours on Teams or Business. These duration caps do not establish an unlimited 24/7 loop. |
| Restream video-file or playlist event | Scheduling video or playlist sources, including a multistream workflow. | Its documentation lists video-file and playlist sources, but does not establish uninterrupted 24/7 repetition on every plan. Verify continuous-loop support for the specific plan. |
YouTube’s verified-encoder list includes Gyre for 24/7 prerecorded streaming. For finite prerecorded broadcasts, consult StreamYard’s prerecorded-stream guidance. Restream documents its video and playlist source types at Restream’s prerecorded video guidance. Because features and plan limits can change, confirm continuous playback and recovery with the provider before purchasing.

Plan for archives, stream limits, and continuity
Do not rely on YouTube to archive a continuous stream
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If you need a complete copy of the webinar, keep a separate local archive rather than treating the 24/7 event as your backup. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.
Check stream counts if you send multiple outputs
YouTube says a channel can have up to 10 active streams and each stream key can have up to 3 active streams. These limits are unlikely to affect one webinar feed, but may matter if your setup sends several outputs. The current figures are in YouTube’s live-streaming limits guidance.

Keep a recovery plan
- Know how to restart the local encoder or cloud playback if the feed stops.
- Check the event and stream status in Live Control Room rather than assuming the watch page means the feed is healthy.
- Keep a separate copy of the recording if archive preservation matters.
- Before going public, verify whether the chosen service resumes the feed automatically after an interruption and whether any action is required from you.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload the webinar recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops uploaded videos from the cloud; it does not broadcast a camera feed. Nothing has to stay on at home, the video streams at its uploaded quality up to 4K at 60 fps for one flat price per slot, and automatic recovery is included if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo supports YouTube only. Visit StreamNeo for details, then start your free first day.
Common problems and fixes
The scheduled event exists, but no webinar appears
Likely cause: You scheduled the YouTube event but did not start a feed. Fix: Start the encoder or playback service, confirm it has the correct server URL and stream key, and check for an incoming feed in Live Control Room.

The feed stops when you leave or turn off your computer
Likely cause: Playback is running through a local encoder. Fix: Keep the computer, encoder, and network running, or move playback to a cloud service designed for continuous operation.
The webinar plays once and then ends
Likely cause: The selected source is configured as a one-time broadcast rather than a continuous loop, or the service has a duration limit. Fix: Enable repeat playback if available, or use a service and plan that explicitly supports the intended continuous loop. Check the provider’s current limits.
YouTube does not archive the full stream
Likely cause: The live stream exceeded YouTube’s 12-hour archive guidance. Fix: Keep a separate local recording if you need the complete webinar; a long-running live event is not a dependable archive.
The stream is interrupted or fails to resume
Likely cause: The local connection, encoder, or cloud service stopped sending a feed, or its recovery behavior requires action. Fix: Check Live Control Room and the playback service, restore the feed, and confirm recovery behavior in a rehearsal before relying on an unattended run.
Cost and equipment considerations
A local encoder such as OBS may avoid a cloud playback subscription, but it requires a computer, reliable internet, and someone to handle monitoring and recovery. A cloud service shifts playback away from your home computer; compare its current price and plan limits against the time and equipment you would otherwise keep available. A microphone can help when recording or presenting a webinar, but it is not required to loop an already-recorded video.
