A VPS can suit creators who want server control and can configure and monitor the encoder; a managed service is simpler when the goal is just to loop uploaded videos. Before choosing a plan, calculate the stream’s monthly data use from its bitrate, then check the provider’s transfer allowance, location, renewal terms and recovery support.
Choose a VPS only if you want to manage the streaming server
A VPS is a self-managed virtual server: you install or configure streaming software, provide the video source, send the encoded feed to YouTube, and handle monitoring and recovery. It can be a reasonable fit if you need server-level control or plan to build your own workflow. A cloud relay that forwards an already encoded stream may need less compute than real-time transcoding, but the right resources depend on the software and workload; validate the specific setup before committing.
If you want to upload prerecorded videos and have a service loop them without maintaining a server, consider a managed playlist service instead. That is a different category from VPS hosting, so VPS specifications and comparisons do not establish which managed service is best.
Estimate bandwidth from the video bitrate
YouTube’s H.264 encoder recommendations include 8 Mbps for 720p30 or 720p60, 14 Mbps for 1080p30, and 17 Mbps for 1080p60. Higher examples are 21 Mbps for 1440p30, 34 Mbps for 1440p60, 42 Mbps for 4K30 and 50 Mbps for 4K60. These are YouTube recommendations for encoder output, not VPS provider requirements. YouTube’s current guidance also covers H.264, H.265/HEVC or AV1, up to 60 fps, AAC or MP3 audio, constant bitrate (CBR), and a recommended two-second keyframe interval that must not exceed four seconds. See YouTube’s live encoder settings and its bitrate recommendations.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For a rough monthly estimate, multiply bitrate in megabits per second by operating seconds, then divide by eight to get megabytes; divide by roughly one million for decimal terabytes. At 17 Mbps running continuously for 30 days, the video data alone is about 5.5 TB, before protocol overhead or any additional traffic. Leave headroom rather than selecting a transfer cap exactly equal to the estimate. A provider’s advertised port speed is a rate ceiling, not a monthly data allowance: a 1 Gbps port does not mean the plan includes enough monthly transfer for a nonstop stream.

| Provider | Reported offer | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| NivoHost | Listed plans start at ₹699/month for one stream handle, 360p at 10 fps, 4 GB RAM, 20 TB bandwidth and a 1 Gbps port. Higher listed tiers include ₹1,799/month for two handles and 720p/30, and ₹3,499/month for three handles and 1080p/60 with 32 GB RAM. The comparison also reports a claimed 99% uptime figure; it is not a measured result and may not represent an SLA. | Clarify what “handle” covers, how bandwidth is defined, whether the listed price recurs or changes on renewal, and whether the uptime claim is backed by an SLA. |
| Endercloud | Mumbai offer listed from ₹999/month with 3 vCores, 8 GB RAM, 50 GB NVMe, 2 TB bandwidth and a stated 1 Gbps network. | Check whether 2 TB is sufficient for the chosen bitrate and operating schedule, and validate the intended encoder workload and transfer terms. |
| VyomCloud | Reported Mumbai listings: ₹360/month for 1 vCPU, 2 GB RAM, 0.5 TB traffic and 100 Mbps; ₹1,040/month for 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 2 TB and 250 Mbps; ₹1,600/month for 4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 5 TB and 250 Mbps. | Confirm the current listing, renewal price, traffic definition and SLA scope. The comparison attributes latency and uptime/SLA statements to the provider; those statements are not independently measured here. |
Compare plans against your actual workflow
Match transfer allowance to bitrate and uptime
Estimate data use for the quality and schedule you intend to run, then compare it with the monthly transfer allowance, not just the port speed. Check whether the provider counts inbound traffic, outbound traffic, or both; how it handles overages; and whether traffic resets monthly.
Decide whether the VPS will relay or transcode
If your playlist is already encoded at the desired output settings and the server only relays it, compute needs may differ considerably from a workflow that decodes, composites or transcodes video in real time. Ask the provider whether the plan supports the required software and workload, and test that workload rather than assuming a listed CPU or RAM figure is enough.

Check location, ingest routing and recovery
A Mumbai or other India data center may be convenient, but its location alone does not establish route quality to YouTube’s ingest endpoint. Confirm that the server can reach the ingest address and protocol you plan to use, and ask what happens if the encoder, VPS or YouTube connection drops. Look for practical restart controls, monitoring, support hours and clear SLA terms; do not treat an advertised uptime percentage as a guarantee unless the contract says so.
Review billing and support before committing
Compare the renewal price with the introductory or displayed price, confirm taxes and payment terms, and read the provider’s traffic and cancellation rules. For an always-on broadcast, support availability and a tested recovery process can matter as much as the VPS’s headline specifications.

Configure a YouTube-compatible feed
- Prepare the source and encoder. Choose a supported video codec—H.264, H.265/HEVC or AV1—and AAC or MP3 audio. Set constant bitrate, select a suitable resolution and frame rate up to 60 fps, and use YouTube’s bitrate guidance for the chosen H.264 format. Set a two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds.
- Get the YouTube ingest details. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or select the stream to retrieve its stream key and ingest URL. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, put it in a public script or share screenshots that expose it.
- Prefer RTMPS when your encoder supports it. YouTube recommends RTMPS, which it describes as RTMP over TLS/SSL. Follow YouTube’s instructions for getting the RTMPS URL and configure the encoder with that URL and the stream key.
- Test before scheduling a continuous run. Start a private or unlisted test where appropriate, inspect the YouTube preview and stream health, and confirm audio, image, bitrate and keyframe behavior. Then check the VPS’s restart behavior by testing the failure modes you can safely reproduce.
Copyright, reused content and continuous streams
A VPS does not grant rights to the videos or music in a playlist. Use material you created, licensed or otherwise have permission to stream, including music, archival footage and documentary clips. YouTube may detect copyrighted material in a live broadcast; a stream can be interrupted or restricted. Keep permission records and review YouTube’s applicable copyright requirements before scheduling a long run.
Permission to stream content and eligibility for monetization are separate questions. Repeating prerecorded material does not by itself establish that a channel meets YouTube’s monetization policies; review the current rules for reused and repetitive content rather than assuming that a 24/7 format qualifies. The copyright safety checklist can help organize a rights review, but it does not replace legal advice or YouTube’s own policies.

Common problems and fixes
- The stream stops when the computer is turned off: If the encoder is running on a local PC, it is that PC—not the VPS—that must remain online. Run the workflow on the VPS or use a managed cloud option.
- YouTube reports an unstable or poor-quality feed: Check that the outgoing bitrate is within the YouTube recommendation for the selected format and that the VPS has adequate network capacity. Verify CBR, frame rate and the two-second keyframe interval, and test for CPU overload if the server is transcoding.
- The stream drops after running for a while: Check VPS logs, encoder status and network connectivity, then confirm whether the provider or encoder can restart the process automatically. A plan’s advertised uptime does not prove that your encoder recovers after a process or ingest failure.
- The plan runs out of traffic: Recalculate monthly use using the actual bitrate and schedule, then compare it with the plan’s traffic definition and overage policy. A large port number does not increase a capped monthly allowance.
- The stream key fails: Confirm that the correct key and ingest URL are paired, and regenerate the key in YouTube Studio if it may have been exposed. Update the encoder securely and test the connection again.
Or let it run in the cloud
