YouTube’s reviewed Help workflow does not document a way to upload a CSV directly into a playlist. For a repeatable or larger import, use the YouTube Data API: read the CSV, extract each video ID, create a playlist, then add the videos in their original row order. You’ll need a Google Cloud project with the YouTube Data API enabled and an OAuth-authorized application.
Choose the right way to add the links

The steps below explain the API route. If you use an extension instead, review its permissions, publisher identity, recent maintenance and privacy disclosures, and check whether Google authorization happens through the official sign-in flow.
Prepare the CSV and extract video IDs
Make a backup and identify the URL column
Keep an untouched copy of your CSV before importing. Identify which column contains the YouTube video URLs. YouTube does not specify a required CSV schema or header name for this process, so your importer must be configured to read the column you actually use.
Parse rows without losing their order
Use a real CSV parser rather than splitting each line on commas. CSV fields can be quoted and may contain commas—for example, in a title column. For every row, extract the video ID from a supported YouTube URL form, reject blank or malformed entries, and retain the row order. The API takes a video ID, not a raw CSV row.

Decide how your importer should handle invalid rows before running a large batch: it can log the row and continue, or stop so you can correct the file. Keep the original row number and URL in the log to make errors easier to investigate.
Create a playlist and add its videos with the API
Set up Google authorization and API access

Create or select a project in Google Cloud, enable the YouTube Data API, and configure an OAuth-authorized application for the account that will own the playlist. API write requests require OAuth authorization; the documented scopes include
youtubeandyoutube.force-ssl. -
Check the project’s current YouTube Data API quota in Google Cloud before importing. Google’s overview describes a default allocation of 10,000 units per day for most other YouTube Data API endpoints, subject to change. The method references list 50 units for each playlist creation call and 50 units for each playlist-item insertion.

Parse the CSV and validate the video IDs before making write requests. Preserve the order of valid rows and record rejected rows separately.

Create the playlist with
playlists.insert, supplying a title. The request body can also set a description and privacy status. The documented endpoint isPOST https://www.googleapis.com/youtube/v3/playlists. Save the returned playlist ID; you need it for each item insertion. -
For each video ID, call
playlistItems.insertusingPOST https://www.googleapis.com/youtube/v3/playlistItems. Setsnippet.playlistIdto the new playlist ID andsnippet.resourceIdto an object withkind: "youtube#video"and the video ID. Process IDs in CSV order so the playlist follows that order.Rank #3

Log each successful insertion and each error with its CSV row number. If a video is unavailable or inaccessible, the API may return errors such as
videoNotFoundorplaylistItemsNotAccessible. Decide whether your workflow should continue with later rows or stop for correction. -
Open the resulting playlist in YouTube, confirm its privacy setting and review the item order and any failed rows before sharing it.

Google’s official implementation guide demonstrates the sequence of creating a playlist, retaining its playlist ID and inserting an item with that ID and a video ID. API methods and quota allocations can change; check the current method references and your project console before a large or recurring import.

Add a few videos manually
For a small list, YouTube’s interface avoids API setup, but it is a video-by-video process rather than a CSV import.

Open a video, select More → Save → Create new playlist, enter a name, choose a privacy setting and create the playlist.

For each remaining video, select Save and choose the playlist.

Check the playlist to confirm the videos were added. YouTube Help notes that some Made for Kids content cannot be added from the homepage; it can be added from search results.
Should you use a third-party CSV importer?
Chrome Web Store listings advertise extensions that import CSV files or bulk URL lists into YouTube playlists. That makes an extension a possible convenience, not an official YouTube feature or a vetted recommendation. A marketplace listing alone does not verify how an extension handles your links, account access or data.
- Inspect access: Read the requested permissions and ask whether they make sense for playlist creation.
- Check who maintains it: Review the publisher identity and recent update history.
- Read privacy disclosures: Look for an explanation of what data is collected, stored or shared.
- Review the authorization flow: Be cautious if an extension asks you to provide credentials directly instead of using Google’s official authorization process.
- Test cautiously: If you proceed, try a small list first and verify the playlist before using it for a larger batch.
