Gyre can schedule a prerecorded video or playlist as a YouTube livestream. A YouTube Premiere is different: it schedules an uploaded video to play on its own watch page. The documented workflows do not establish that Gyre creates or schedules Premieres directly. Choose the workflow based on what viewers should watch, then use YouTube Live Redirect if you want a Gyre-powered livestream to hand viewers off to a Premiere.
First, choose the viewing experience you want

Gyre’s Streams Scheduler concerns livestream events. YouTube’s Premiere schedule concerns an uploaded video. The reviewed Gyre documentation does not establish direct Premiere creation or scheduling, so create the Premiere in YouTube Studio rather than assuming the Gyre scheduler controls it.
Schedule prerecorded content as a YouTube livestream with Gyre
1. Check that the channel can livestream
YouTube requires a verified channel with no livestreaming restrictions during the previous 90 days. Enabling livestreaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours. Check eligibility before setting a near-term start time. YouTube’s encoder livestream instructions describe the requirements.
2. Choose a Gyre connection method
Gyre describes an authorization route and a manual route. In the authorization flow, select YouTube and authorize with the Google Account that owns the channel; then provide broadcast details in Gyre. In the manual flow, create the event in YouTube Live Control Room and enter its connection details in Gyre. The controls differ by route, so follow the prompts for the method you selected rather than expecting identical steps. 3. Create or connect the YouTube event
For the manual route, open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, choose Manage, then Schedule stream. Create a new stream or reuse settings, then copy the stream URL and stream key into the intended Gyre connection fields. For the authorization route, use Gyre’s YouTube setup to select an existing stream key or create one where that option is available. The exact controls can change, so check the current interface. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains event creation and encoder connection details.
4. Add the video source and verify the broadcast details
In Gyre, add the video or playlist and check the stream name, privacy, sequence, and other broadcast parameters. Confirm that the selected YouTube event and Gyre source correspond to the same broadcast. Product controls and plan eligibility may change; check the current Gyre account interface for availability.

5. Set the start and end times
In the Gyre scheduler, select the broadcast and set a start time, end time, or both if the chosen setup offers those controls. Older manual instructions describe using a scheduled, public YouTube broadcast and enabling auto-start and, when wanted, auto-stop. Verify those options in the current YouTube and Gyre interfaces; the authorization and manual routes need not expose the same controls. See Gyre’s scheduling walkthrough.
6. Check readiness before the scheduled time
YouTube recommends setting up encoder streams at least two hours before an event and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes beforehand. Those are YouTube recommendations for encoder streams, not a guarantee of performance or a requirement that maps exactly to every cloud workflow. For Gyre, verify that the event exists, the correct source and schedule are selected, privacy is right, and the Live Control Room preview is ready before the public start. Protect the stream key
A stream key identifies where the encoder or streaming service sends its feed and allows YouTube to accept it. Treat it like a password: only enter it in the intended service, and reset it if it is exposed. YouTube says resetting a key requires channel owner or manager permission. See YouTube’s stream key guidance.
Create a YouTube Premiere
- In YouTube Studio, upload the video and add its details.
- Choose Schedule, enter the date and time, select Set as Premiere, and set a countdown if desired.
- Save or schedule the video, then share its public watch page so viewers can visit before the start, set a reminder, comment, or chat.
YouTube recommends scheduling a Premiere at least 24 hours ahead to give viewers around the world a chance to see its thumbnail in their subscriptions feed. YouTube’s Premiere instructions describe the setup. Premieres do not support Shorts, 360/VR180 video, or output above 1080p.

Send viewers from a Gyre livestream to a Premiere
- Create and schedule the Premiere in YouTube first.
- Configure Live Redirect for the source livestream in YouTube and select the Premiere as its destination.
- When the live event ends, allow viewers about two seconds for their screens to reload to the Premiere.
This handoff is a YouTube Live Redirect capability, not a Gyre Premiere feature. Review YouTube’s Live Redirect settings for current eligibility and configuration details.

- Choose a Gyre livestream when the content should run as a live event—for example, a scheduled replay or a playlist. Viewers join the broadcast as a livestream.
- Choose a Premiere when one finished documentary should debut as an uploaded video at a shared time, with its own pre-release page and audience interaction.
- Combine them when a livestream is the lead-in and you want viewers to arrive at the Premiere afterward. Set up the Premiere first, then configure YouTube Live Redirect.
Common scheduling problems and fixes
The channel cannot start a livestream
Check verification status and whether YouTube has applied a livestream restriction within the previous 90 days. If this is the channel’s first livestream activation, allow up to 24 hours for it to become available.

The stream is not connected to the intended event
For manual setup, compare the event’s stream URL and key in YouTube with the details entered in Gyre. If the key may have been exposed, reset it in YouTube and update the intended service with the replacement. For authorization setup, confirm that the Google Account authorized in Gyre owns the intended channel.
The event starts at the wrong time or is not public
Compare the scheduled time, time zone, privacy setting, and start/end controls in both services. Manual and authorization setups can have different options; do not assume a Gyre-side schedule automatically changes every YouTube event setting.
The Premiere option is unavailable or the format is unsupported
Confirm that you are scheduling an uploaded video in YouTube Studio, not creating a live event. Shorts are not supported as Premieres; 360/VR180 and output above 1080p are also outside Premiere support.
Live Redirect does not lead to the Premiere
Make sure the Premiere already exists before configuring the livestream redirect, and verify that it is selected as the destination in YouTube’s Live Redirect settings. The audience may need about two seconds after the live stream ends for the watch page to reload.
