You can use JioFiber to send a continuous lofi livestream to YouTube, but a plan’s advertised download speed does not prove that its upload connection will sustain a 24/7 broadcast. First check your plan’s usage terms, measure dependable upload capacity, choose an encoder bitrate with headroom, secure rights to the music and visuals, and plan for power, internet and archive interruptions. JioFiber does not guarantee uninterrupted streaming, and YouTube says a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured as an archive.
Can I stream 24/7 on JioFiber?
Technically, a computer or other encoder can send a YouTube livestream over JioFiber. Whether your particular connection and plan are suitable depends on the upload capacity and terms at your address, along with your equipment, household network use and power supply. No locality-specific performance measurements or reliability tests establish that JioFiber will sustain a 24/7 stream for you.
Check the terms for your exact plan before treating continuous or monetized broadcasting as permitted. Jio’s current Postpaid FAQ describes unlimited plans as for home use and warns that misuse, fraudulent, unauthorized or commercial use can lead to service discontinuation. Its Postpaid terms say consumption beyond 3300 GB in a bill cycle is treated as misuse and that plan data benefits may be withdrawn. Prepaid terms describe a 3300 GB threshold per 30-day recharge cycle. These are plan terms, not a guarantee that a particular use is acceptable. Estimate the traffic before committing to a long broadcast. At a constant bitrate, a stream sends roughly 10.8 GB per day for each 1 Mbps of video bitrate, before overhead. For example, a 5 Mbps stream would use about 54 GB per day, or roughly 1.6 TB over 30 days, for the stream alone. This is an estimate, not a Jio usage measurement; other household devices and streaming activity add to the total.

What upload speed do you need?
Upload capacity—not the download-speed headline—is the relevant connection measure. YouTube says a stream’s total bitrate cannot exceed available upload bandwidth and recommends leaving 20% headroom. Other people and devices sharing the connection can reduce the bandwidth available to your encoder, and a connectivity interruption can break the stream. - Measure at the streaming location. Run repeated upload speed tests on the connection you will use. Include busy household periods, not just a quiet one-off test.
- Choose a conservative bitrate. Set the total stream bitrate below the dependable upload capacity, leaving YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom as well as room for other network activity. A speed test is only a snapshot; it does not establish continuous performance.
- Run a representative test stream. Before going public, create an unlisted or private test and monitor YouTube’s stream health over a meaningful period. If you see instability or errors, reduce the bitrate or resolve the network issue before relying on the connection.
Choose encoder settings YouTube recommends
YouTube’s published encoder guidance lists recommended bitrate ranges by codec, resolution and frame rate. For H.264, it recommends 5 Mbps at 1080p/30fps and 3 Mbps at 720p/30fps. These are platform recommendations, not evidence that your JioFiber connection can hold either rate continuously. A slowly moving or mostly static lofi scene may not need a high frame rate. Choose a resolution and frame rate that suit the visual and the upload capacity you have tested; lowering either can make a stream easier to sustain. YouTube documents H.264, H.265 and AV1 ingestion, with recommended rates varying by format and settings. Do not assume the highest resolution will produce a more reliable broadcast.
Set up the YouTube livestream
- Create or schedule the stream. In YouTube Live Control Room, create or schedule a livestream and retrieve the server URL and stream key shown for the stream.
- Configure your encoder. Enter YouTube’s server URL and stream key in the encoder, then set the codec, resolution, frame rate and bitrate you selected. Keep the key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to your stream.
- Test before going public. Start an unlisted or private test, check YouTube’s stream health and resolve any warnings or dropped-connection issues. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring rather than assuming a configured stream is healthy.
- Keep the encoder available. Use a wired Ethernet connection where practical. Prevent the computer from sleeping or applying disruptive updates during the broadcast, and know how to restart the encoder if it stops.
Clear music and visual rights before streaming
Get permission for every track, loop, sample and visual used in the stream. The license needs to cover a continuous YouTube livestream and, if you intend to monetize, monetized use. A “royalty-free” label alone does not establish those rights; check the actual license and keep a copy of the permission or terms.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, including copyrighted material. It may interrupt or terminate a stream if it detects such content, and an active live-stream copyright strike is one of YouTube’s listed restrictions. Plan for JioFiber, equipment and power interruptions
- Separate home equipment from the ISP connection. A UPS can keep a router and encoder powered through a short local outage, depending on the connected load and battery runtime. It cannot prevent or repair an upstream JioFiber outage.
- Size backup power for your actual load. Check the power draw of the router and streaming computer and choose a UPS for the runtime you need. - Prepare a recovery procedure. Know how to check the encoder, network and YouTube stream health, and how to restart the broadcast. A second internet connection or mobile-data failover may help only if it is independently tested and its own data and usage terms suit the stream.
Will YouTube save a 24-hour livestream?
Do not rely on YouTube to preserve one complete 24-hour archive. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all: “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” See [YouTube’s archive guidance](https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6247592?hl=en).

If an archive matters, consider shorter planned sessions and test the end-and-restart process you intend to use. Record locally as a backup and check that the computer has enough storage for the bitrate and recording duration. A local recording protects against an incomplete YouTube archive, but it does not keep a failed live connection on air.

Common problems and what to check
- YouTube reports poor stream health or the stream drops: Check the connection at the encoder, compare actual upload performance with the total stream bitrate, leave more headroom, and test again. Other household traffic may be competing for upload bandwidth.
- The connection works but the stream stops during a power cut: Check whether the router and encoder both have backup power and whether the UPS runtime covers their load. A UPS will not resolve an ISP-side interruption.
- A broadcast is interrupted for a content match: Review the music and visual rights for the specific material. Confirm that the permission expressly covers YouTube livestreaming and intended monetization; replace material whose rights are unclear.
- The 24-hour stream is missing or incomplete in YouTube: YouTube warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Use planned shorter sessions if YouTube archives are important and make a local recording backup.
- The plan’s data or usage terms are unclear: Identify whether it is prepaid or postpaid, check the current terms for that plan, and account for all household usage. Do not assume “unlimited” means unrestricted for continuous broadcasting.
