You can keep prerecorded videos playing on a YouTube livestream by sending a continuous feed from a PC encoder to YouTube Live and configuring the encoder to play and loop your playlist. YouTube Studio supplies the stream connection details and scheduled event; it does not play or loop files on your PC. For a local setup, the PC, encoder, power and internet connection must stay available. If you would rather not leave a computer running at home, a cloud service is an alternative.
What you need before setting it up
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled. YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
- A PC and encoder that can send a continuous RTMP or RTMPS feed and play the media you want to stream.
- Your video files and a playlist configuration in the encoder. The encoder—not YouTube Studio—controls their order, looping and transitions.
- A stable internet connection with enough sustained upload capacity for your selected stream settings.
Keep the stream key private. Anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your channel. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains how to create a stream and connect an encoder.
Set up the YouTube Live event
- Open YouTube Studio and select Go Live. If the channel has not streamed before, follow the activation prompts and allow for YouTube’s stated activation time of up to 24 hours.
- In Live Control Room, create a stream or schedule one. For a scheduled event, check its title, description, privacy, audience setting and other metadata before sharing its watch page.
- Copy the stream URL (or server URL) and stream key shown for the encoder connection. Do not share or publish the key.
Scheduling creates the YouTube event and watch-page workflow; it does not start your PC’s playlist. The encoder must connect and send the video and audio feed for the scheduled stream to have content.
Configure the PC encoder and playlist
- Choose an encoder that supports continuous streaming and playback of your local prerecorded media. Its playlist controls determine which file plays next and whether playback repeats.
- In the encoder’s streaming settings, select YouTube if that integration is available, or enter the server URL and stream key from Live Control Room.
- Set the playlist order, repeat behavior and any transitions in the encoder. Verify that each file has the expected picture, audio and duration. YouTube’s setup instructions cover sending a feed and credentials; they do not prescribe a universal playlist-loop sequence.
- Start with a short test stream. Confirm the intended YouTube event receives the feed, the playlist advances and repeats as expected, and audio is present.
Exact playlist and auto-restart controls vary by encoder and version. Do not assume a specific menu path applies to every release; consult the current documentation for the encoder you choose. If the application closes or the PC restarts, the playlist may not resume unless you have configured and tested that behavior.

Choose stream quality using the connection you actually have
YouTube recommends checking upload bitrate, testing with representative movement and audio, monitoring stream health, and using RTMPS. Run an upload test where the PC will operate, then choose settings with headroom below the connection’s sustained capacity. A single peak speed-test result does not establish that the connection can hold a 24/7 stream.
There is no one bitrate that suits every playlist: the appropriate setting depends on resolution, frame rate, codec, content and available upload. Test with material similar to the real stream—especially its motion and audio—and watch YouTube’s stream-health indicators before leaving the setup unattended. Test the full setup before leaving it unattended
- Use a private or unlisted test where appropriate, and verify that the feed is attached to the intended event.
- Check that the playlist order, loop behavior, transitions and audio are correct.
- Watch the YouTube preview and stream-health indicators during the test.
- Test a planned encoder close and reopen, and a planned PC restart. Confirm what happens to the stream and whether you need to reconnect manually.
- Keep the stream key secure. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder configuration.
These checks help reveal problems in the complete chain; they cannot guarantee that a PC, power supply or broadband connection will remain available indefinitely.

If you stream over Wi-Fi and see local instability, connecting the PC to the Jio gateway with Ethernet is a troubleshooting option. It may improve the local link, but it cannot prevent an ISP-side interruption or power failure. A wired connection and a speed-test result are not substitutes for monitoring an actual test stream.
Jio’s postpaid terms describe usage beyond 3300 GB in a billing cycle as potentially subject to treatment as misuse of unlimited-data benefits. This is wording for the postpaid terms page, not a universal allowance statement for all JioFiber customers or plans; check the terms for your account. Jio marketing has also described plans with speeds up to 1 Gbps and symmetric upload/download in that page’s plan context. That does not establish the speed available to an individual subscriber. Plan for interruptions and YouTube archives
A local-PC stream depends on the encoder, PC, power and household connection all continuing to work. Plan for what you will do after a restart, power loss, router interruption or dropped YouTube connection; test encoder recovery rather than assuming it will reconnect automatically. YouTube recommends monitoring stream health, but the playlist and local recovery behavior depend on your encoder setup.
YouTube Help states: “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” Do not assume an indefinite 24/7 broadcast will produce one uninterrupted archive. If you need archives, plan shorter broadcast segments and verify the current result in Studio. See YouTube’s encoder live-stream guidance.
