1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteMeasure each complete file with FFmpeg’s loudnorm filter, then normalize every file to the same integrated-loudness target and true-peak ceiling. Re-measure the rendered files and listen to the playlist transitions. YouTube does not specify a universal loudness target for a creator’s playlist, so choose one that suits the material rather than treating a particular LUFS value as a platform rule.
Why peak matching is not enough
Two recordings can have the same sample peak but sound very different in perceived loudness. Matching peaks alone therefore does not reliably prevent one documentary segment, interview, or piece of music from sounding much louder than the next. Measure integrated loudness across each complete file, and use a common target and true-peak ceiling for the set.
Loudness matching does not make the files’ dynamics identical. A shared target can make average perceived levels more consistent while preserving the intentional contrasts within each recording.
Prepare the files and choose a target
Keep originals and identify the right audio
- Make a working copy of each source file and keep the originals unchanged.
- If a file contains multiple audio streams, identify which one belongs in the playlist and use that stream consistently in analysis and rendering.
- Group material that belongs to the same listening program. Decide on a shared integrated-loudness target and maximum true-peak ceiling for that group.
Treat the target as a production choice
FFmpeg’s filter accepts target integrated loudness, loudness range, and true-peak settings. Its documented defaults and allowed parameter ranges describe the filter, not a universal recommendation for every playlist. YouTube’s upload-encoding guidance covers technical delivery settings, but does not prescribe a playlist-wide integrated-loudness target. For broadcast-oriented loudness guidance, see the EBU R 128, Version 4.0; do not assume it is a YouTube requirement.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Analyze and normalize each file with FFmpeg
FFmpeg documents loudnorm with both single-pass and double-pass operation. For offline files, use the double-pass workflow: analyze each whole file using the same chosen target settings, record the reported measurements, then use those measurements in that file’s normalization pass. The exact command depends on your chosen target, input stream, and output format; consult the installed version’s FFmpeg filters documentation for the filter options and measurement fields.
- Analyze each complete input. Run
loudnormin its analysis/double-pass mode with your shared target settings. Record the reported integrated loudness, loudness range, true peak, and measured threshold for each file. - Render each file separately. Apply the same integrated-loudness and maximum true-peak targets to every file, using the analysis measurements from that file in its second pass. Keep track of output names so each render can be matched to its source.
- Check how the filter processed it. FFmpeg notes that linear normalization requires measured input values and may revert to dynamic mode if the requested loudness change conflicts with the loudness-range or true-peak conditions. Do not assume every result is gain-only processing.
- Re-measure the rendered files. Analyze the outputs with consistent settings and compare them against your intended targets. Investigate unexpected results before building the final playlist.
- Listen in playlist order. Audition the end of each file and the beginning of the next, including any silence or crossfade you plan to use. Measurements help match overall loudness; listening catches abrupt changes, edits, noise, and transitions that numbers alone cannot judge.
Check phase and mono playback
Before delivery, check that stereo audio is in phase and remains intelligible when heard in mono. YouTube warns that poor mono compatibility may reduce audio quality or mute audio when stereo is converted to mono. This matters for viewers listening through mono devices or playback setups. See YouTube’s audio and video upload troubleshooting guidance.

Package the program for YouTube
YouTube does not accept an audio file alone as a video upload. Put the finished audio program together with an image using video-editing software, then export a video file. YouTube’s upload guidance states: “YouTube doesn’t have a tool to upload audio files, but you can try other video editing software.”
For audio in uploaded videos, YouTube’s recommended upload encoding settings include AAC-LC or Opus audio, a 48 kHz sample rate, and stereo or supported multichannel configurations. YouTube re-encodes uploaded videos, so use its recommendations when exporting and check the current guidance before release.

Do not rely on YouTube playback leveling
YouTube’s Stable volume feature, where available, is a viewer-side playback control intended to balance loud and quiet audio. It is not a tool for analyzing or normalizing your source files. Prepare consistent files before assembling the playlist rather than relying on each viewer’s playback settings.
Troubleshoot common results
- One file still sounds louder despite similar peaks: Peaks do not represent perceived loudness. Compare complete-file integrated-loudness measurements and confirm each file used the same target settings.
- A rendered file does not meet every target: The requested loudness, range, and true-peak conditions may not all be achievable together. FFmpeg can switch from linear to dynamic normalization; inspect the filter’s reported mode and re-measure the result.
- Audio changes or disappears on mono playback: Check stereo phase and mono compatibility before export. YouTube identifies poor mono compatibility as a possible cause of degraded or muted audio after stereo-to-mono conversion.
- The upload has no audio, or YouTube will not accept the audio-only file: Create a video by pairing the finished audio with an image in video-editing software, then export using YouTube’s current upload recommendations.
- Playback seems more even on one device than another: Stable volume availability and effect are viewer-side; it does not change the loudness of your source files or replace normalization.
