पहले समझें: reconnect किस चीज़ का होना है?
लाइव फीड टूटने के कई अलग कारण हो सकते हैं। FFmpeg बंद हो जाए तो उसे supervisor दोबारा शुरू कर सकता है; लेकिन गलत stream key, कमजोर upload connection या YouTube ingest की समस्या को केवल process restart ठीक नहीं करता। इसी तरह, FFmpeg का कोई HTTP input फिर जुड़ जाए, इसका अर्थ यह नहीं कि RTMP output भी YouTube से फिर जुड़ गया।
FFmpeg Project की Protocols Documentation में reconnect, reconnect_at_eof और reconnect_streamed HTTP protocol के अंतर्गत दिए गए हैं। RTMP अलग protocol section में है। इसलिए HTTP reconnect विकल्पों को RTMP publishing के लिए गारंटी की तरह न लगाएँ। सही उपाय failure layer पर निर्भर करता है: input, FFmpeg process, नेटवर्क, credentials या YouTube-side stream health।
FFmpeg से YouTube तक का सही रास्ता जाँचें
1. Live Control Room से URL और key की पुष्टि करें
- YouTube Studio में Live Control Room खोलें और encoder setup में दिखाए गए stream URL तथा stream key की पुष्टि करें। YouTube की encoder से live stream बनाने की गाइड में यही publishing जानकारी दी जाती है।
- अपने FFmpeg output destination को Live Control Room के URL से मिलाएँ। यदि stream key reset हुई है या समझौता होने का संदेह है, नई key लें और FFmpeg configuration में पुरानी key को बदलें।
- वास्तविक key को सार्वजनिक command, screenshot, साझा log या लेख में न रखें। उदाहरण में भी वास्तविक credential न डालें।
यदि key या URL गलत है, बार-बार process restart करने से credential सही नहीं होगा। पहले configuration ठीक करें, फिर encoder को दोबारा चलाकर Control Room में preview और health देखें। YouTube के live stream settings प्रबंधन पृष्ठ में stream URL और key का संदर्भ है।

2. FFmpeg का process और log देखें
- FFmpeg बंद हो चुका है: exit reason और आखिरी log lines देखें। बाहरी process supervisor या restart loop इसे फिर चला सकता है।
- FFmpeg चल रहा है, पर output नहीं पहुँच रहा: output error, endpoint, credential और नेटवर्क की जाँच करें। जरूरत हो तो deployment के अनुसार process को रोककर सही configuration के साथ फिर शुरू करें।
- FFmpeg लगातार connect करने की कोशिश कर रहा है: केवल restart loop जोड़ने के बजाय बताई गई error को समझें। loop बार-बार वही invalid key या अनुपलब्ध network आज़माएगा।
Supervisor process exit पर काम आता है; वह टूटी हुई uplink, गलत key, असंगत encoder setting या YouTube-side समस्या को ठीक नहीं करता। किसी command में reconnect विकल्प जोड़ने से पहले यह स्पष्ट करें कि failure HTTP input का है या RTMP output का, आपका FFmpeg build कौन-सा है और आपका operating system क्या है। एक universal reconnect command इन बातों को नज़रअंदाज़ करेगी।
नेटवर्क और encoder settings को स्थिर करें
Upload capacity में headroom रखें
YouTube Help की मौजूदा, undated guidance के अनुसार outbound क्षमता कुल primary और backup bitrate से 20% अधिक रखें। यह YouTube की सिफारिश है, आपके भारतीय ISP की गारंटी नहीं। घर या कार्यालय के दूसरे उपकरण भी upload इस्तेमाल कर सकते हैं; connectivity disruption stream तोड़ सकती है। YouTube की streaming tips के अनुसार encoder के outbound connection को stream bitrate भेजने के लिए पर्याप्त होना चाहिए।

यदि व्यावहारिक हो, encoder कंप्यूटर को router से Ethernet से जोड़ना एक जाँचने योग्य सुधार है। इससे अपर्याप्त ISP upload capacity, बिजली या router failure, YouTube ingest error अथवा FFmpeg crash अपने-आप ठीक नहीं होंगे।
ऐसी settings चुनें जिन्हें uplink लगातार संभाल सके
YouTube की encoder settings, bitrates और resolutions guidance RTMP/RTMPS ingest का उल्लेख करती है; उसमें H.264, H.265/HEVC और AV1 का समर्थन सूचीबद्ध है। YouTube CBR और दो सेकंड का keyframe interval सुझाता है; interval चार सेकंड से अधिक न रखें। Bitrate codec, resolution और frame rate के अनुसार बदलता है, इसलिए ऐसा मान चुनें जिसे आपका वास्तविक outbound connection लगातार भेज सके। RTMPS, सुरक्षित RTMP विकल्प है।

Live Control Room में encoder preview आने की प्रतीक्षा करें और stream-health messages देखें। YouTube प्रतिनिधि audio और motion के साथ test करने तथा stream health monitor करने की सलाह देता है। 24/7 cartoon feed में बदलते दृश्य और audio encoder load तथा stream health पर असर डाल सकते हैं; सिर्फ स्थिर चित्र वाला छोटा test पर्याप्त नहीं हो सकता।
Recovery और backup encoder को प्रसारण से पहले परखें
YouTube की live streaming tips के अनुसार event से कम-से-कम दो घंटे पहले encoder setup करें और scheduled event से कम-से-कम 15 मिनट पहले encoder शुरू करें। ये event-preparation समय हैं—FFmpeg reconnect interval नहीं।

- ऐसे समय test करें जब आप Live Control Room देख सकें। पहले preview, health messages और चल रहे output की पुष्टि करें।
- FFmpeg process को जानबूझकर बंद करके देखें कि supervisor उसे फिर शुरू करता है या नहीं। अलग से जाँचें कि नेटवर्क या credential error आने पर आपके logs कारण दिखाते हैं।
- यदि backup encoder की व्यवस्था है, YouTube के बताए failover test में primary encoder रोकें या उसका Ethernet cable disconnect करें और जाँचें कि player backup पर जाता है या नहीं। यह backup-encoder failover का परीक्षण है, एक FFmpeg process के स्वतः reconnect होने का प्रमाण नहीं।
किसी एक setup से same watch page पर stream कितनी जल्दी लौटेगी, इसकी निश्चित अवधि इन मार्गदर्शन पृष्ठों में स्थापित नहीं है। पहले test करें और फिर उसी recovery व्यवहार को monitor करें जिस पर 24/7 संचालन निर्भर करेगा।

24/7 का मतलब एक ही archive की गारंटी नहीं
YouTube Help कहता है कि 12 घंटे से कम streams अपने-आप archive होती हैं। इससे यह निष्कर्ष नहीं निकलता कि 24/7 broadcast एक ही uninterrupted archive बनेगा या playback बिना रुकावट जारी रहेगा। Archive व्यवहार और live stream recovery अलग बातें हैं।
