You can run the encoder on a computer, use dedicated hardware, or use a cloud playout service. First enable live streaming on your channel, then schedule the broadcast, connect YouTube’s stream key, and check your content rights and archive plan. For Malayalam lessons, organize the playlist around a specific KPSC post or examination—not “KPSC” in general—because the Kerala PSC publishes separate syllabi.
Choose how to keep the lesson feed running
All three routes send prerecorded video to YouTube Live; none makes the teacher live on camera. YouTube describes both software and standalone hardware encoders and lists Gyre as a cloud-based option for continuous prerecorded streams. It does not establish comparative prices, uptime, or performance for these routes, so check current provider details before choosing.
| Route | How it works | What to consider |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Upload recorded videos, add your YouTube stream key, and start the cloud stream. | Runs without a home computer staying on; any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot; first day free. |
| Local software encoder | A computer plays the lessons in sequence and sends the feed to YouTube Live. | Requires a computer and connection to remain available, plus local setup and monitoring. |
| Standalone hardware encoder | A dedicated device sends the video feed. | Check device cost, compatibility, and maintenance. No specific model is established here. |
| Other cloud playout | A provider runs the prerecorded broadcast remotely; YouTube lists Gyre as an example. | Verify current features, cost, recovery behavior, and rights handling with the provider. |
For YouTube’s encoder workflow and its listed options, see YouTube’s guide to creating a live stream with an encoder.
Prepare the Malayalam KPSC lesson playlist
Match lessons to the target examination
Decide which post or examination the stream serves, then check each lesson against that examination’s current syllabus. Kerala PSC’s syllabus listings include multiple examinations and Malayalam-medium entries; there is no single universal KPSC syllabus. Remove or clearly identify lessons that belong to a different post or an older syllabus.

Make the loop useful to learners
- Arrange lessons in a deliberate sequence, such as subject, topic, and revision session, rather than relying on an arbitrary loop.
- Use clear Malayalam titles and on-screen labels that identify the exam or post and lesson topic.
- Check that the video and Malayalam audio are intelligible and that each lesson transitions as intended.
- Keep individual lesson videos or an ordinary playlist available too, so learners can locate a topic without waiting for the continuous feed to reach it.
Enable YouTube Live and connect the encoder
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Streamers must be at least 16. First-time live activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it before announcing a start. Review YouTube’s live-streaming requirements.
- Create or schedule the broadcast. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream. Scheduling gives you a watch page to share ahead of time.
- Copy the stream details. In the encoder’s stream settings, enter YouTube’s server URL and stream key. Treat the key as private account access information; do not publish it or share it with viewers.
- Start the feed and inspect the preview. Start playback and check the YouTube preview for picture, sound, lesson order, and labels before making the scheduled broadcast live.
- Monitor the broadcast. Confirm the feed continues through lesson transitions and that the YouTube stream remains active. Neither a particular encoder route nor the act of scheduling guarantees uninterrupted uptime.
YouTube’s encoder instructions cover the stream URL, key, and scheduled broadcasts.
Confirm you have rights to everything in the stream
YouTube scans live streams for third-party material. It may replace the picture with a placeholder, interrupt the broadcast, or terminate it. Licensed content can also be interrupted if the rights holder has not added the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Before streaming, confirm you have permission for the recorded lectures, slides, music, images, and any clips. If you have a licence, ask the rights holder whether allowlisting is necessary. See YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.

Plan replay archives and monetization separately
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its August 12, 2026 explanation of qualified watch hours says public long-form videos and archived livestreams can count, while livestreams that are not archived do not. The available guidance does not establish that one continuous stream longer than 12 hours will be archived as a single replay. Check the actual archive and status in YouTube Studio rather than promising a replay or qualified watch hours. If a dependable replay matters, consider planned shorter sessions and check YouTube’s current guidance before making monetization claims.

Troubleshoot common problems
- You cannot start a live stream: Check channel verification and restrictions in the previous 90 days. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: Check that the encoder has the correct YouTube server URL and stream key. If the key may have been exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- The preview has no sound or the wrong lesson: Check the source playback, audio, and playlist order in the encoder or playout service before taking the broadcast live.
- The picture is replaced or the stream is interrupted: Review the content for third-party material and confirm permissions. For licensed material, ask the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting.
- The replay is missing or watch hours do not qualify: Check whether the stream was under 12 hours and whether YouTube archived it. Do not assume a longer continuous broadcast becomes one archive or that unarchived livestream hours qualify.
