To add a supporter or activity label in Streamlabs Desktop, open Sources, click +, choose Stream Label under Essentials, name the source, and add it. Pick a label type, then adjust its template and appearance. You’ll also need an Alert Box source in the stream; it can be hidden if you don’t want the alert box displayed.
Add a Stream Label in Streamlabs Desktop
- Open Streamlabs Desktop and go to Sources.
- Click +.
- Under Essentials, choose Stream Label.
- Enter a name for the source and add it to the stream.
- In the settings that open, choose a label type, such as Top tipper, Most recent follower, or Most recent subscriber.
- Adjust the label template and appearance, then position and size the source in your scene.
Streamlabs’ built-in labels require an Alert Box widget source in the stream. Add one if needed; hide it if you don’t want the alert box itself visible. See Streamlabs’ Stream Labels setup guide and its note on the Alert Box requirement.
Customize the label text and appearance
The label template controls the text shown on screen. Bracketed fields such as {name} are variables that Streamlabs fills with the relevant information. Choose a template that fits the label type, then adjust the font family, text transform, vertical orientation, and text extents to suit the space in your scene.
Streamlabs’ setup guide describes its label library with differing counts in different sections, so there is no single precise total to rely on. Choose the label type you need from the options shown in your current installation.

Choose the right workflow for your streaming software

Use the standalone app with OBS or similar software
- Install and log in to the standalone Stream Labels app.
- Choose an output directory for its generated text files.
- Run the app so it can update those files.
- In OBS or comparable software, add a text source and enable Read from file.
- Browse to the matching generated text file and select it for the source.
Keep the Stream Labels app running while you stream if you want the text files to update in real time. Streamlabs describes the app as one that runs on your computer and generates text files, in a guide by Ethan May dated June 18, 2021 and last updated January 28, 2026. Troubleshoot missing Twitch events
If Twitch events are missing from Recent Events or Mini Feed, Streamlabs’ troubleshooting steps address the account integration. They may help future events; they do not restore missing past events. This procedure is specific to those event displays, not a universal fix for every label issue.

- Log out of Streamlabs.com and Streamlabs software.
- In Twitch settings, disconnect the Streamlabs integration.
- Clear browser cookies and cache.
- Log back in and reconnect Streamlabs.
- If necessary, update widget or alert URLs.
