YouTube Studio’s scheduling workflow creates the event page and reminder; its documentation does not establish native scheduled playback of a prerecorded file. For English and Hindi, plan the audio tracks or broadcasts separately from captions: YouTube’s multi-language audio feature applies to uploaded videos, while documented automatic live captions are currently English-only.
Choose how viewers will receive English and Hindi
Before scheduling, decide whether viewers need two language versions at separate times, or one video with selectable audio tracks. These are different production plans, and neither should be confused with captions.
- Separate broadcasts: Schedule an English event and a Hindi event. Each has its own watch page and timing, so viewers choose the language by selecting the corresponding broadcast.
- One uploaded video with selectable audio: YouTube describes multi-language audio for uploaded videos and Shorts, not as a way to add selectable language tracks to a live broadcast. The creator must supply the dubbed audio tracks or arrange for them to be produced, and the channel needs access to Advanced features. See YouTube’s multi-language audio guidance.
- Captions: Captions display text; they do not provide a second spoken-language track. Arrange a Hindi caption workflow separately if Hindi text is needed during the live program.
If using YouTube’s multi-language audio on an eligible uploaded video, its help page reports that creators who uploaded multi-language audio tracks had “over 25% of watch time” from views in a video’s non-primary language. YouTube does not state a publication year on that page; this platform-reported figure is not a forecast for an individual channel.
Schedule a conventional YouTube Live event in Studio
This workflow creates an upcoming live event and watch page. It does not itself make a prerecorded file play at the scheduled time.

- Sign in to YouTube Studio, select Create > Go live, then open Manage.
- Select Schedule stream. Create a new stream or reuse settings from an existing one.
- Enter the event title and description, choose its privacy and audience settings, and set the date and time. Confirm the time zone and language-specific details before saving.
- Open the upcoming event in Live Control Room and share its watch-page URL. Viewers can visit the page and set a reminder.
- At broadcast time, connect the encoder using the event’s stream settings, check the preview and stream health, and select Go live in YouTube when the program is ready.
- When the program ends, stop the broadcast in YouTube and stop the encoder. YouTube’s encoder setup help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; do not assume the same archive behavior for longer streams.

Schedule a prerecorded news program to play as live
For a recording that must start and play automatically as a live broadcast, choose an encoder or third-party service that explicitly supports scheduling prerecorded media to YouTube Live. YouTube’s encoder guidance points to this as a third-party capability; it does not mean every encoder supports it, nor that Studio offers the feature natively. Confirm the provider’s current scheduling, playback, audio-routing and YouTube ingest support before committing a news slot. - Prepare the final program file and verify that the English or Hindi version, or the intended audio track arrangement, is correct. Check the opening and closing, sound levels, graphics and any captions before scheduling.
- In YouTube Studio, create the scheduled event using the steps above. Copy the event’s stream key and server URL from its stream settings.
- In the chosen encoder or service, configure the event for prerecorded playback at the intended date and time. Follow its instructions to connect the stream key and ingest server. Do not share the stream key; anyone with it may be able to send video to the channel.
- Before the scheduled start, confirm that the correct video, audio and event are selected. If the provider offers a preview or test mode, use it to check the image and sound.
- At the start time, verify the incoming preview and stream health in Live Control Room. For a workflow requiring a manual launch, select Go live only after checking the preview. Keep an operator available to monitor the program and respond to problems.
- At the end, stop the stream in YouTube and in the encoder or service as required by that provider. Check the resulting archive and captions before sharing it as an on-demand recording.
Plan English and Hindi audio and captions
Audio for a live broadcast
Do not assume that one YouTube Live stream automatically provides simultaneous selectable English and Hindi audio. The documented multi-language audio workflow is for uploaded videos and Shorts. For a live program, use separate scheduled language broadcasts unless your chosen provider and the channel’s current YouTube workflow explicitly support the audio arrangement you need.
Automatic captions
YouTube says automatic live captions are currently English-only, are rolling out to eligible channels, and require normal latency. Poor audio or overlapping speech can prevent accurate captions. Live captions do not remain on the replay; YouTube may generate new automatic captions for the archived video. Review machine-generated captions before publication. Hindi or bilingual live captions
If Hindi captions are required during the event, arrange a supported caption feed rather than relying on automatic live captions. YouTube documents embedded captions and software that sends captions to YouTube, and currently supports one live caption track. That means you should not plan on two simultaneous live caption tracks from this workflow. See YouTube’s live caption setup information.
Newsroom checks before the scheduled slot
- Rights: Confirm that the channel has the necessary rights for the recorded program, footage, music, graphics and any dubbed audio in each language. Rights for the original version do not automatically establish rights for a separately recorded dub.
- Access: Check that the channel can schedule and stream, and that any required features—such as Advanced features for multi-language audio—are available on that channel.
- Event details: Verify the date, time zone, privacy, audience, title and description on both language events if you are scheduling separate broadcasts.
- Preview and sound: Test representative speech, music, movement and graphics. Confirm that the incoming preview is the intended program and that audio is clear and correctly routed.
- Viewer access: Open the event watch page on a phone and another device or browser. Check that the page is accessible as intended and that the event link is the one being shared.
- Monitoring: Assign someone to watch stream health and listen during the broadcast. YouTube recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production events; this is an optional production choice, not a requirement for scheduling.

Troubleshoot common scheduling and language issues
The event is scheduled, but the recording does not start
Studio scheduling creates the upcoming event, not the prerecorded playback automation. Check that the selected encoder or service supports scheduled prerecorded media, that its schedule uses the intended time zone, and that it is connected to the correct event and stream key.
There is no preview in Live Control Room
Confirm that the encoder is running and using the server URL and stream key for this event. Check the provider’s connection status and verify that the event is the scheduled stream you intended to use. Do not publish until the correct video and audio appear in the preview.

The stream is live in one language only
A scheduled live event does not automatically create another language version. Schedule the other language as a separate broadcast, or use multi-language audio on an eligible uploaded video if the audience can watch on demand.
Hindi live captions are missing
Automatic live captions documented by YouTube are English-only. For Hindi, configure a supported caption feed and verify it before the event; YouTube’s documented live workflow supports one caption track.
Captions are inaccurate or absent from the archive
Live captions may be affected by poor audio or overlapping speakers and do not carry over to the replay. Review the archived video and its captions, and correct or provide captions for the on-demand version as needed.
