1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsTo loop a Hindi yoga nidra recording on YouTube with OBS, add the local audio or video file to a scene as a Media Source, enable Loop in its properties, and connect OBS to a stream created in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Test privately or unlisted before going public. OBS can repeat the file, but the broadcast still depends on your computer, power, internet connection, and monitoring.
Before you start
- Your YouTube channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Check eligibility in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room; an individual channel’s status cannot be determined in advance. YouTube’s live-streaming tips
- Install OBS Studio on Windows, macOS, or Linux and have the Hindi yoga nidra recording available as a local file. OBS Media Source supports common audio and video formats, including MP3, AAC, OGG, WAV, MP4, MOV, MKV, and WebM. OBS Media Sources
- Use only narration, music, images, and video for which you have the necessary rights to stream on YouTube.
Set up the looping recording in OBS
- Create a scene. In OBS, add a scene in the Scenes panel and select it so it is active.
- Add the recording. In Sources, select + and choose Media Source. Give it a recognizable name, then select the local file in its properties. For an audio-only recording, add an intentional visual—such as a suitable still image or title card—rather than leaving viewers with an unintended blank screen.
- Enable looping. In the Media Source properties, check Loop. This repeats the file when playback reaches the end. Keep the source in the active scene. Restart playback when source becomes active is a separate option: it affects playback when the source becomes visible, not whether the file loops. OBS Media Sources
- Check the audio. Start or preview playback and watch the Audio Mixer. The meter for the intended source should move when the recording plays. If the meter is inactive or the wrong device is being captured, review Settings → Audio and select the required devices manually. OBS Quick Start Guide
Connect OBS to a YouTube live stream
- In YouTube Studio, open Go Live to reach the Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream using an encoder.
- In the stream’s encoder settings, copy its stream URL and stream key. In OBS, open Settings → Stream, select YouTube as the service, and enter the server and key as required by the displayed settings. YouTube describes the stream key as the credential that lets the encoder send the feed; keep it private and do not share screenshots or recordings that expose it. YouTube: Stream using an encoder · YouTube: Manage your live stream settings
- Choose the output resolution and frame rate to suit the source, computer, and reliable upload bandwidth. In OBS, configure the encoder and bitrate under Settings → Output and the video dimensions and frame rate under Settings → Video. YouTube recommends H.264, H.265, or AV1 for RTMP/RTMPS ingestion, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds. These are YouTube’s platform recommendations, not a promise that your connection can sustain a chosen bitrate. YouTube: Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions
H.264 bitrate references from YouTube
Use these as starting points for the specified resolution and frame rate, then test your actual setup. A stable connection with headroom is more useful than a higher setting that repeatedly drops frames.
| Output | YouTube H.264 bitrate recommendation |
|---|---|
| 1080p at 30 fps | 14 Mbps |
| 720p at 30 fps | 8 Mbps |
| 480p at 30 fps | 4 Mbps |
These figures are YouTube recommendations on its encoder-settings page, not measurements of your internet connection or guarantees of stream quality. Test at the resolution and frame rate you intend to use. YouTube advises including audio and video movement similar to the planned broadcast during the test. YouTube encoder settings
Test, then start the broadcast
- Before the first public broadcast, run a short test. Set the stream to private or unlisted as appropriate, start streaming from OBS, and wait for the preview in the Live Control Room.
- Check that the picture is framed as intended, the Hindi narration is audible and not distorted, the Media Source loops when it reaches the end, and YouTube reports acceptable stream health.
- Use the representative recording and expected settings for the test. YouTube recommends monitoring the audio and video throughout a stream; OBS also recommends a short test before the first real broadcast. YouTube encoder settings · YouTube live-streaming tips · OBS Quick Start Guide
- When the test is good, make the intended stream public in the Live Control Room and continue to monitor OBS and YouTube while it is live.
Plan for long broadcasts and recordings
A looping Media Source does not make a broadcast self-sustaining. OBS must remain open with the scene active, and the computer needs power and a working network connection. Monitor for audio or video problems and interruptions rather than assuming the stream will run unattended indefinitely.

YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but warns that streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Do not rely on the YouTube archive as the only copy of a long broadcast. YouTube: Archive live streams
For a local backup, OBS can record while streaming. Choose the recording path and format in Settings → Output → Recording, and confirm the destination has enough free space for the planned duration and quality. OBS recommends MKV because an ungraceful stop is less likely to corrupt the entire recording; remux it to another format afterward if needed. Estimate storage from your own recording bitrate and duration, since actual file size depends on those settings. OBS Standard Recording Output Guide

Copyright and YouTube live-stream rules
You are responsible for having the rights needed to stream every element of the recording, including spoken narration, music, visuals, and any third-party material. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder; continued use can interrupt or terminate the broadcast. If you have a licence for third-party material, YouTube says the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Troubleshooting
- The file plays once and stops: Open the Media Source properties and enable Loop. Check that the source remains in the active scene.
- There is no sound, or the wrong audio is heard: Watch the Audio Mixer while the file plays. If its meter does not move, check the source and review Settings → Audio to select the intended device. Check the file’s own audio and OBS output before restarting the broadcast.
- YouTube does not receive the OBS feed: Confirm the correct stream URL and stream key are entered in Settings → Stream, and that the stream is active in YouTube Studio. If you exposed the key, replace it in YouTube Studio and update OBS with the new one.
- The stream drops frames or reports poor health: Reduce the output resolution, frame rate, or bitrate and test again. The recommended bitrate must be sustainable on your actual upload connection; a higher number is not automatically better.
- YouTube interrupts the broadcast: Review YouTube’s live copyright notices and remove or resolve material you are not authorized to use. A rights holder may need to allowlist your channel for licensed Content ID material.
- You cannot find the recording in YouTube’s archive: YouTube warns that broadcasts longer than 12 hours may not be captured. Use OBS’s local recording as a backup and verify available disk space before a long session.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your requirement is continuous playback without leaving OBS and a computer running at home, StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded recordings. Upload the yoga nidra recording, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; StreamNeo loops the upload from the cloud. It does not stream from a camera.
