You can use OBS Studio to send a Malayalam devotional playlist to YouTube, but keeping it live around the clock depends on your computer, internet connection, broadcast settings and a tested recovery plan. First confirm that YouTube has enabled live streaming for your channel, then prepare a broadcast, connect OBS, test the audio and playlist transitions, and confirm you have permission for every recording and composition. OBS does not make devotional music copyright-free, and neither OBS nor YouTube promises uninterrupted 24/7 operation.
Before you start: live access, equipment and rights
Confirm YouTube live-streaming eligibility
YouTube says a channel must be verified and have had no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days to go live. Check live access in YouTube Studio before building the stream. Current controls and availability are set by YouTube; an OBS installation by itself does not grant channel access. See YouTube’s live-streaming overview.
Use a computer that can run OBS and a stable connection
OBS must remain running on the computer for this local setup to continue sending video and audio. The available guidance does not establish a minimum CPU, GPU, memory, network speed, bitrate, or resolution for this particular playlist. Test your actual system and connection rather than treating an unverified hardware specification as a YouTube requirement. Wired networking and backup power may help with operational resilience, but no specific configuration is guaranteed by the cited guidance.
Clear the actual music and visuals
Permission depends on the particular recording and underlying composition, and may vary by performer, label, territory and intended use. Being devotional, old, popular, available online or described as royalty-free does not by itself establish that you can rebroadcast it. Obtain and keep documentation covering livestream use and the territories you intend to reach. If a rights owner has licensed third-party material for your stream, ask whether they must add your channel to their Content ID allowlist.

YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. A match may cause a placeholder to replace the stream, a warning, interruption or termination. YouTube specifically advises creators who have licensed third-party content to ask the owner to add their channel to the Content ID allowlist; a license alone may not prevent an automated interruption. Set up the YouTube broadcast and connect OBS
1. Create or select the intended broadcast

In YouTube Studio, open the live-stream controls and create the broadcast you intend to use, or select the correct existing broadcast. Review its title, visibility and scheduling before sending a signal.

In OBS, use the available YouTube account integration or the stream settings provided by YouTube Studio to connect the encoder to that broadcast. Interface labels can change between versions, so follow the current controls rather than relying on old screenshots.

If you connect with a stream key, keep it private. Anyone with access to it may be able to send a stream to your channel. Confirm which broadcast the key is attached to before going live.

Check whether the encoder and broadcast start and stop together. OBS’s guide describes scheduled broadcasts and auto-start/auto-stop controls, but its interface guidance dates from 2015. Verify the behavior in your current OBS and YouTube Studio versions. YouTube’s encoder guidance is at OBS’s YouTube streaming guide.
A scheduled event gives you a distinct broadcast to select and manage. It does not, by itself, guarantee continuity after a computer, network or encoder failure.
Build and test the devotional playlist scene
Choose one stable scene
Create an OBS scene with an appropriate visual, such as artwork you own or are licensed to use, and the audio source for the playlist. Keep the visual suitable for the entire broadcast. The same rights checks apply to cover art, photographs, animations and other visuals as to the music.
Check audio and transitions before publishing

Start the playlist in OBS and confirm that the audio meter responds when the music plays.

Use the YouTube preview to confirm the incoming audio is audible and not clipping or dropping into silence.

Let the playlist move through at least one complete track transition. Check for gaps, overlapping tracks, unexpected source shutdowns or a visual that disappears between items.

Test the repeat behavior you intend to use. The official guidance cited here does not validate a particular OBS playlist-source method or a specific 24-hour looping configuration, so confirm the behavior in your own setup instead of assuming a loop will continue indefinitely.

Rehearse recovery and monitor the stream
Treat “24/7” as an operating goal, not a guarantee. Rehearse long enough to check playlist repeats, scene transitions, a network interruption, an OBS restart and the YouTube broadcast’s response when encoder data stops and returns. Decide who will monitor the stream and what they will do if playback or the broadcast fails. The cited materials do not establish an OBS setting that guarantees uninterrupted service or a maximum continuous runtime.
YouTube’s live-stream overview states limits of 10 active streams per channel and three active streams per stream key (YouTube Help page accessed in 2026). These are platform limits, not suggested targets; a single devotional stream is unlikely to need them.
Copyright permission and monetization are different questions
Having permission to stream a recording does not guarantee that a channel will qualify for monetization. YouTube assesses reused content separately from copyright permission and enforcement. The outcome for a channel built mainly around a repetitive devotional music loop cannot be predicted from these general rules; review YouTube’s current channel monetization policies and assess your channel’s original contribution and overall content.
