A stream running for 24 hours does not automatically earn a fixed payment for 24 broadcast-hours: YouTube’s public guidance gives no per-hour rate or 24/7-stream formula. Actual results depend on member viewing and are best checked in YouTube Studio Analytics.
What determines YouTube Premium revenue?
YouTube Help says revenue from Premium membership fees is distributed to video creators based on how much members watch their content. That is the public allocation principle; YouTube does not publish a universal dollar-per-view, dollar-per-watch-hour, or always-on-stream rate. The public guidance does not disclose all calculation inputs or a 24/7 livestream-specific formula. It also does not establish a per-country allocation formula, per-member rate, or forecast for an individual creator. Without a channel’s own reporting and the non-public calculation details, a numerical estimate would be speculative.
Can a livestream earn Premium revenue?
Yes. YouTube says long-form and live-stream videos viewed on the Watch Page can earn ad and YouTube Premium revenue when the creator accepts the Watch Page Monetization Module. Its Premium guidance also says long-form creators accept that module and turn on Watch Page ads. The Watch Page includes YouTube pages where long-form and live content plays; the monetization guidance also covers playback embedded in the YouTube Video Player on other sites, subject to the module. Being live, or leaving a stream online, is not by itself evidence that Premium members watched it. Eligibility and reported revenue are different questions: the relevant content must meet YouTube’s monetization requirements, and the allocation principle is based on Premium members’ viewing.
Does a 24/7 livestream earn Premium revenue all day?
Not simply because it is online all day. Broadcast uptime measures how long the stream is available; YouTube’s published Premium allocation rule points to how much Premium members watch. If no Premium member watches during a period, the stream’s uptime alone does not establish Premium viewing or a payment for that period. YouTube does not publish a fixed payment for each hour a stream remains live.

How Premium revenue differs from live-stream ad revenue
Premium membership-fee allocation and live-stream advertising are separate mechanisms. Do not use ad-delivery information or an ad-revenue figure as a proxy for Premium payments.

YouTube describes automatic or manual mid-rolls as options for live streams, with its ad systems determining whether a slot receives an ad. Those controls affect ad delivery, not the Premium allocation formula. See Monetize your live stream. YouTube has reported an average uplift of over 20% in in-stream ad revenue per hour for creators who chose automatic live mid-rolls; that reported figure concerns ad revenue, not Premium revenue, and should not be used to estimate Premium earnings.

How to check your channel’s reported revenue
- Open YouTube Studio. Go to the channel’s Analytics and open the Revenue tab. Labels and available reports can change, so use the current Studio interface.
- Select the relevant date range and area. Analytics reports are tied to the selected period and area; make sure they match the livestream dates you want to review.
- Review Watch Page revenue and available detail. YouTube describes Watch Page ad revenue in Analytics as an aggregate that includes AdSense for YouTube, DoubleClick ads, and YouTube Premium for the selected date range and area. Where available, use detailed downloadable reports to examine the results.
- Separate reported revenue from a forecast. A past report shows what YouTube reported for that channel and period; it does not reveal a general per-hour rate that can be applied to future streams.
