Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minutePotentially—but a ₹500 VPS listing does not prove it can carry a reliable 24/7 YouTube stream. The answer depends on the VPS’s actual sustained network performance, monthly outbound-traffic allowance, and whether you are relaying an already encoded video or transcoding it. YouTube’s encoder workflow lets you send a stream using a server URL and stream key; it does not certify a VPS or guarantee uninterrupted service.
What a ₹500 VPS can—and cannot—tell you
A VPS can run streaming software that sends a prerecorded file or playlist to YouTube. In a relay workflow, the software sends compatible, already encoded video without converting it. Transcoding—changing resolution or codec in real time—adds a different CPU workload.
The advertised price and specifications are only provider claims. They do not establish that the connection will sustain your chosen bitrate continuously, that the provider permits the workload without restrictions, or that YouTube will stay connected. No independent 24/7 livestream benchmark is established for the listings below. Check current terms and test a representative stream before relying on either plan.
How much monthly data does a 24/7 stream use?
For a constant-rate stream over 30 days, estimate decimal data with: bitrate (Mbps) × 2,592,000 seconds ÷ 8. These are arithmetic estimates, not YouTube usage measurements. Protocol overhead, retransmissions, reconnects, and any additional outputs can increase traffic.

| Stream bitrate | Estimated transfer in 30 days | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 2.5 Mbps | About 0.81 decimal TB | Below the two example allowances discussed below, before overhead and any other traffic. |
| 6 Mbps | About 1.94 decimal TB | Near a 2 TB allowance and above a 1 TB allowance, before overhead and any other traffic. |
YouTube’s official Streaming tips guidance says: “The total bitrate you’re streaming cannot exceed the amount of upload bandwidth available. Leave a bit of room (20% recommended).” A VPS port-speed figure is an interface limit, not proof of sustained throughput to YouTube. Check how the provider counts outbound traffic, test the route and target bitrate, and leave margin below the cap rather than planning to use all of it.

| Provider listing | Advertised price | Advertised resources | Transfer implication |
|---|---|---|---|
| Purvaco VPS Entry | ₹500/month plus 18% GST | 1 vCPU, 2 GB ECC RAM, 25 GB NVMe storage, 2 TB bandwidth, 1 Gbps port, one IPv4 address | At 2.5 Mbps, the estimated 0.81 TB is below the listed allowance. At 6 Mbps, estimated use of 1.94 TB is close to it. |
| VyomCloud listing | ₹560/month | 2 vCPU cores, 2 GB RAM, 40 GB storage, 1 TB traffic, 100 Mbps bandwidth figure | At 2.5 Mbps, the estimate is below the listed allowance. At 6 Mbps, estimated use exceeds it. |
For either plan, ask whether the allowance counts outbound traffic, what overage costs, and whether a fair-use or sustained-use policy applies. Also check renewal pricing, suspension rules, support, restart behavior, and uptime terms. A stated port speed or provider uptime term is not a promise that your particular stream will remain healthy.
Relay or transcode: choose the workload before the VPS
Relaying an already encoded file
A relay reads a compatible, already encoded source and sends it onward without re-encoding. Check that the file’s container and codecs are accepted by your streaming software and workflow, and confirm the software can loop or schedule the source as required. The cited YouTube encoder guidance explains connecting an encoder; it does not give VPS sizing for this use.

Transcoding in real time
Changing a file’s codec or resolution while it streams uses CPU resources in a way that direct relaying does not. Do not assume that 1 vCPU is sufficient for transcoding: test your specific source, settings, and intended bitrate. Monitor CPU, memory, network traffic, reconnects, and stream health during a representative run.
Set up and test the do-it-yourself VPS method
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. The content must also comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
- Choose the source and workload. Decide whether you will relay a compatible, already encoded file or transcode it. Check that the VPS has enough storage if the source video will reside there; using a remote source changes the network and reliability assumptions.
- Check the provider’s limits. Confirm the outbound-traffic allowance and accounting, sustained-use or fair-use terms, overage handling, and any restrictions on long-running processes. Compare the allowance with your estimated monthly use and leave room for overhead and other traffic.
- Prepare a YouTube stream. In YouTube’s Live Control Room, use the server URL and stream key for the encoder connection. Keep the stream key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to send a stream to your channel. YouTube’s encoder setup covers ingestion, not VPS reliability.
- Configure your streaming software. Point it to the selected video or playlist, configure the YouTube connection, and enable looping or scheduling if needed. Use settings your source and encoder support; the information available here does not establish one universal resolution, codec, or bitrate for every file and VPS.
- Preview before going live. Start with a test, check audio and video in YouTube’s preview, and monitor the VPS’s CPU, memory, network use, and connection stability. YouTube advises setting up ahead of time, previewing, monitoring quality, and testing failover.
- Observe a representative run. Check stream health and traffic over a meaningful period, not only at startup. Confirm the provider’s traffic meter agrees with your estimates, and verify how the encoder and VPS behave after a disconnect or restart before treating the setup as always-on.
Copyright, monetization, and 24-hour archives are separate questions
Clear the rights to the video and audio
YouTube’s livestream terms say the content provider represents that they have the necessary rights for use of live content on Google services worldwide, including applicable music rights. Before streaming, clear the video and audio for the relevant territories and intended uses; owning a copy of a song or film does not by itself establish those permissions.

A live loop is not automatically eligible for monetization
YouTube’s Partner Program policies apply to live streams. In its July 15, 2025 clarification, YouTube renamed “repetitious content” as “inauthentic content” and said repetitive or mass-produced content is ineligible under its expectation of original, authentic value. Reviewers may consider a channel’s overall theme, most-viewed and newest videos, share of watch time, metadata, and About section. Putting repetitive material on a live stream does not make it original.
Do not assume one complete replay will be saved
YouTube’s encoder guide says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. It does not establish that a 24/7 stream will be archived as one complete replay. If preservation matters, retain the original files independently or plan separate, shorter sessions, and verify YouTube’s current behavior before relying on an archive.

Common problems and what to check
- The stream drops or buffers: Check sustained throughput, packet loss, route quality to YouTube, and whether the stream bitrate leaves the recommended network headroom. A port-speed number alone is not a throughput test.
- The VPS runs out of traffic: Compare actual outbound use with the provider’s accounting and your bitrate estimate. Check whether the cap counts outbound traffic, what happens at the limit, and whether overhead or other VPS traffic contributed.
- CPU use is high or the stream becomes unstable: Check whether the encoder is transcoding. Test the intended source and settings; do not treat a relay workload as proof that the same VPS can transcode.
- YouTube will not accept the stream: Confirm channel verification and live-stream eligibility, then check that the encoder is using the correct current server URL and stream key. Keep the key private.
- The stream ends after a server restart or provider event: Check the provider’s restart and support policies and test how your streaming process recovers. A single VPS is a possible point of failure; do not infer uninterrupted service from a plan listing.
- The replay is incomplete or missing: A 24-hour stream is not established as one automatically archived replay. Keep an independent copy if you need the content preserved.
- A claim or music causes a rights or policy issue: Review permissions for both video and audio and assess whether the material adds original value. Live delivery does not remove rights or monetization requirements.
