Yes, if the stream and channel are eligible and live chat remains on. YouTube describes slow mode as limiting how often most viewers can comment; it does not describe slow mode as turning chat off. YouTube’s Super Chat guidance says Supers are available on eligible live streams and Premieres when live chat is on. The compatibility answer follows from those separate rules: YouTube does not expressly guarantee Super Chats in slow mode.
Why slow mode does not necessarily block Super Chats
Slow mode adds a wait between comments for most viewers. The channel owner, moderators and channel members are exempt from that rate limit. Since slow mode is a limit on comment frequency—not the same setting as switching live chat off—it does not, by itself, appear to meet YouTube’s stated condition that makes Supers unavailable.
YouTube says Super Chat and Super Stickers are available on eligible live streams and Premieres where live chat is on. Its help pages do not explicitly name slow mode as compatible, so treat this as an inference from YouTube’s descriptions, not a specific guarantee for every stream.
What must be true for Super Chats to be available
- Live chat is on. YouTube says Super Chat and Super Stickers are unavailable if live chat or comments are turned off. See YouTube’s eligibility, availability and policy guidance.
- The channel is eligible. The creator must meet YouTube’s fan-funding requirements and comply with applicable terms and policies. Availability also depends on location.
- The video is eligible. YouTube lists age-restricted, unlisted and private videos, Made for Kids videos, and YouTube Giving fundraiser videos as ineligible for Super Chats and Super Stickers.
- Supers are enabled for the channel. Check the channel’s monetization and live-stream settings if viewers cannot send them. YouTube’s guidance on managing Super Chat and Super Stickers describes their availability on eligible streams and Premieres with live chat enabled.
Does the 24/7 duration change the answer?
YouTube’s cited guidance covers eligible live streams generally; it does not make a special rule for continuous 24/7 broadcasts. Duration alone is not listed as a reason Supers are disabled, so the general eligibility guidance points to the same answer for a 24/7 stream. That is an application of the general rule, not an explicit YouTube statement guaranteeing Supers on every continuous broadcast.

- Slow mode is on, but chat is still active: Slow mode alone is not identified in YouTube’s guidance as a Super Chat blocker. Check channel and video eligibility.
- Live chat or comments are off: Turn chat back on if you want viewers to use Super Chat; YouTube lists disabled chat/comments as unavailable conditions. YouTube’s live-chat moderation guide explains chat and slow-mode controls.
- The video is private, unlisted, age-restricted, Made for Kids, or a YouTube Giving fundraiser: YouTube lists these as ineligible video categories for Supers; changing slow mode will not address that restriction.
- The creator or location does not meet requirements: Review the channel’s fan-funding eligibility and applicable availability rather than changing chat frequency settings.
