First record the exact Live Control Room error, check that your encoder and video source are still healthy, and measure sustained upload against the stream’s total bitrate. Contact BSNL if those checks point to an outbound-connection fault.
Start with the YouTube status and the time of the interruption
When the stream stops, note the time and whether your encoder disconnected, YouTube ended the event, or the event remained open but stopped receiving video. In YouTube Live Control Room, read the stream-health status and any accompanying error or instruction before changing or resetting the setup. The status and metrics views can help distinguish an ingestion or encoder problem from a possible connection issue.
- Copy the exact error text and record when it appeared.
- Note whether audio, video, or both stopped, and whether the encoder still says it is connected.
- Record the encoder’s bitrate, resolution, frame rate, and any changes immediately before the interruption.
YouTube’s Live Control Room reports stream status and specific errors or instructions. An error indicating a format, bitrate, or audio configuration problem calls for a different fix from an outbound connection failure.
Check the encoder and the video it is sending
Look at the encoder’s own preview, status, logs, and CPU load. Confirm that the intended recording or playlist is still playing and that audio and video are present. If you record an archive locally, check whether the file is still growing; a stalled archive can be a clue that the source or encoder stopped, though it does not by itself identify the cause of the YouTube interruption.

- Check for encoder errors, disconnections, overload warnings, or a stopped output.
- Confirm the source file or playlist has not ended, stalled, or lost its audio track.
- Check the YouTube stream format, bitrate, and audio configuration if the dashboard reports an ingestion error.
- Use a current encoder version, and review its logs around the recorded stop time.
YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance recommends checking the image and sound directly in the encoder. If the encoder output looks healthy, investigate the outbound connection next.
Measure sustained upload against the stream’s total bitrate
Test upload rather than relying on download speed. YouTube notes that inbound bandwidth is often greater than outbound bandwidth, and its streaming tips recommend leaving 20% headroom above the stream bitrate. Run an upload-oriented speed test under conditions resembling the live stream, and repeat it at different times if results vary. A single speed-test result is only a snapshot, not proof that upload remained stable throughout a long broadcast.

For example, YouTube recommends a 5 Mbps video bitrate for H.264 at 1080p/30 fps. Applying YouTube’s 20% headroom guidance to that video payload gives 6 Mbps of available upload as a simple planning calculation. Audio and other traffic on the connection add to the total, so this is not a universal line-speed requirement or a promise about any BSNL plan.

These are YouTube encoder recommendations, not measured BSNL throughput and not guarantees of uninterrupted streaming. If upload is marginal or fluctuates, lower resolution or bitrate to a setting your sustained connection can support, then test again and watch whether stream-health errors change. Do not assume a single upload speed applies to every BSNL subscriber.

Run a controlled test to isolate the connection path
- Keep the same encoder, source, and settings, and run a short test stream with realistic audio and video movement. YouTube advises testing with the kind of content you expect to stream, since a static screen may not reveal the same load or problems.
- Monitor Live Control Room health during the test and compare any new error with the encoder’s status and logs.
- If possible, test briefly over an independent internet connection. If the issue occurs only on one connection under otherwise similar conditions, that comparison can help isolate the network path; it does not establish that the alternate connection is suitable for 24/7 service.
- If configured, check that a backup encoder and failover setup are functioning as intended. A backup can help with encoder failure, but it does not repair an underlying connection fault.
Choose the next step from the observations: retain settings only if upload is stable and stream health is clean; lower bitrate or resolution if capacity is marginal; troubleshoot the encoder or source if its preview, logs, or output show a fault; and escalate to BSNL when connection testing points to an outbound-network problem.
When to contact BSNL
If the encoder and source look healthy but upload or connectivity tests show a fault, give BSNL the interruption timestamps, speed-test results, encoder status, and exact YouTube error text. YouTube Help says: “If you find issues with your internet connection: Contact your internet service provider to troubleshoot.”

BSNL lists 1800-4444 for Bharat Fiber, broadband, and landline customer care. Its official complaint portal also supports booking a complaint and checking its status. State your broadband access type, plan, and service area when you raise the issue; those details matter because the individual line’s terms and local conditions are not known from the fact that it is BSNL.

Useful checks before the next long stream
- Confirm the stream key is entered correctly and that the encoder is sending to the intended YouTube event.
- Test the full source, audio, and encoder configuration before going live, then monitor Live Control Room health after starting.
- Keep notes on stop times, dashboard messages, encoder logs, and repeated upload tests so that a pattern can be discussed with BSNL support.
- Review YouTube’s current live-stream requirements and copyright rules for your content. A stable connection does not establish that you have rights to rebroadcast music or video, and using prerecorded material does not by itself guarantee compliance with YouTube policies.
