You can stream a prerecorded devotional video on YouTube Live at 4K and 60 fps without a dedicated GPU, but not every GPU-free computer can encode that workload reliably. The local route is OBS using CPU-based x264 encoding or supported Intel Quick Sync integrated graphics; test the exact video and computer before relying on it. If you want the stream to keep running without a computer at home, a cloud service is another option.
Choose a way to encode and keep the stream running
A discrete graphics card is not a YouTube Live requirement. What matters is whether your encoder can produce the chosen resolution and frame rate continuously, while your internet connection sustains the outgoing bitrate. OBS cautions that system requirements vary with the encoder, resolution, frame rate, and scene complexity; basic software requirements do not establish that a particular PC can handle 4K60. OBS Project system requirements, dated August 25, 2021.
| Method | What it does | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| OBS x264 | Encodes in software on the CPU; OBS includes x264. | Whether your particular CPU can sustain the selected 4K60 settings without overheating or dropping frames. |
| OBS Intel Quick Sync Video (QSV) | Uses supported Intel integrated graphics for hardware encoding; a discrete GPU is not needed for this path. | Processor generation, codec support, driver, OBS build, thermals, and actual output. OBS’s compatibility notes are not a 4K60 performance guarantee. |
| Hosted continuous broadcaster | Runs the continuous broadcast through a service rather than requiring your home computer to encode and remain on. YouTube’s encoder directory lists Gyre for continuous Full HD and 4K broadcasts at 30/60 FPS without a dedicated PC. | Current source-format limits, upload limits, service terms, geographic availability, and whether its handling of your file and loop meets your needs. |
OBS documents QSV on Windows and Linux for Intel HD Graphics with Core i-series 2xxx and newer; it recommends Core i-series 4xxx/Haswell or newer for better quality than early generations. These notes describe compatibility, not a current 4K60 benchmark. Check the exact processor and software support in the OBS hardware encoding guide, dated January 11, 2022. YouTube’s verified encoder directory lists Gyre; that listing alone does not establish its current plans or terms.
Prepare the channel and devotional video
- Enable live streaming early. YouTube says a verified channel must have no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time enablement may take up to 24 hours. Check the current YouTube live-streaming requirements before your planned broadcast.
- Confirm rights to everything in the program. YouTube requires livestreams to comply with its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Make sure you have rights to the devotional audio recording, video, artwork, and any other third-party material; the platform rules do not determine whether you have a license for a particular recording. See YouTube’s live-streaming policies.
- Check the file and repeat point. Confirm the source’s dimensions, frame rate, audio, and duration. Choose the playback or encoder software that will repeat it, then check the transition between the end and beginning. The official sources cited here do not document a specific OBS click path or establish gapless looping for a particular setup, so verify the transition in your chosen software before broadcasting.
- Check local capacity and connection. For a local setup, confirm the machine can play the source and encode at the intended settings at the same time. Measure sustained upload capacity and allow the bandwidth headroom described below.
Configure YouTube Live for 4K60
YouTube’s current live-encoder guidance lists 2160p (4K) at 60 fps with an H.264 recommended bitrate of 35 Mbps, or an AV1/H.265 bitrate range of 10–40 Mbps. These are YouTube ingest recommendations, not source-file bitrate requirements or proof that your encoder can produce the stream. Use a codec your encoder actually supports, and match the output to the video and your tested hardware. See YouTube’s encoder settings, accessed October 3, 2026; the page does not display a publication date.

- Rate control: CBR (constant bitrate).
- Frame rate: Up to 60 fps; set 60 fps for the 4K60 output.
- Keyframes: Use a 2-second interval; YouTube says the interval must not exceed 4 seconds.
- Protocol: YouTube recommends RTMPS, a secure extension to RTMP.
- Latency: YouTube says the option to improve for low latency is unavailable at 2160p. 4K streams are optimized for quality with normal latency.
Do not confuse YouTube’s live ingest bitrate with the bitrate of your uploaded source file: they describe different parts of the workflow. For an OBS stream, choose the encoder and codec first, then set the output resolution, frame rate, rate control, bitrate, keyframe interval, and protocol to the values supported by that encoder and YouTube.
Run a local stream with OBS
- Get the YouTube stream details. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule the live stream and obtain its stream key and server details from the Live Control Room. Keep the key private; it authorizes an encoder to broadcast to your channel. Follow YouTube’s current encoder setup guidance for the stream connection.
- Set up the video and loop. In OBS, add the chosen playback source and audio, configure it to repeat using the controls available for that source, and verify the ending-to-beginning transition. Do not assume a particular source type loops seamlessly; confirm both picture and audio through a full repeat.
- Choose an encoder. In OBS output settings, select x264 for CPU encoding or QSV if OBS offers it and your Intel system supports it. If QSV is unavailable, check the processor, graphics driver, operating system, and OBS build rather than assuming the computer cannot stream at all. Neither option guarantees sustained 4K60 on an unspecified PC.
- Apply the YouTube output settings. Configure 3840 × 2160 output at 60 fps, the supported codec, CBR, the selected YouTube ingest bitrate, a 2-second keyframe interval, and RTMPS. For H.264, YouTube’s recommended 4K60 setting is 35 Mbps. If using AV1 or H.265, YouTube lists a 10–40 Mbps range, but use them only if the chosen encoder and workflow support them.
- Connect and preview. Enter the server and stream key in OBS, start the encoder, and check the preview in YouTube Live Control Room before making the broadcast public. Verify the incoming resolution, frame rate, audio, and stream health.
- Test before unattended use. Run the intended file, audio, scene, and loop for a representative period on the exact computer and connection. Watch OBS for dropped frames and system load, check temperatures and stability, and monitor YouTube stream health. YouTube recommends testing with movement and audio similar to the actual program and monitoring stream health.
Make sure the connection has enough upload capacity
Your upload connection must carry the outgoing stream steadily; download speed is not the relevant measure. YouTube recommends leaving 20% bandwidth headroom above the stream bitrate and accounting for a backup stream if you use one. At the 35 Mbps H.264 4K60 recommendation, 20% headroom works out to about 42 Mbps of sustained upload capacity. That 42 Mbps is a calculation from YouTube’s guidance, not a separate YouTube-published threshold. Check the connection during the hours you plan to stream, since available upload capacity can vary. See YouTube’s encoder guidance and streaming tips.

- 【USB 3.2 Gen2 Type‑C: 10Gbps & Versatile Connectivity】The USB 3.2 Gen2 Type‑C port on the KAMRUI P2 small pc supports 10Gbps data transfer speeds and can also output DisplayPort 1.4 video. Together with Gigabit LAN, Wi‑Fi, and Bluetooth, you get a fast, flexible, and productive connected environment – wired or wireless.
Troubleshoot common failures
- OBS cannot maintain 4K60 or frames are dropping: The encoder may be overloaded, or the system may be thermally constrained. Test QSV if supported, or reduce the output resolution or frame rate until a sustained test is stable. A computer that meets general OBS requirements is not necessarily capable of this workload.
- YouTube reports unstable stream health: Check sustained upload capacity and bitrate, then confirm the connection retains YouTube’s recommended headroom. If the stream bitrate exceeds available upload bandwidth, reduce it or use a more capable connection.
- QSV does not appear in OBS: Verify the exact Intel processor and integrated graphics support, graphics driver, operating system, and OBS configuration. The OBS compatibility note covers Windows and Linux but does not promise QSV on every Intel system or codec.
- The loop pauses, jumps, or loses audio: Check the playback source’s repeat behavior and inspect the exact transition in a test broadcast. The cited platform and OBS documentation does not promise gapless playback for a particular source configuration.
- The channel cannot go live: Confirm the channel is verified, live streaming is enabled, and there is no restriction from the preceding 90 days. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time live-streaming enablement.
- The preview is blank or YouTube receives no stream: Confirm OBS is using the correct server and current stream key, then check that the encoder is running and the stream appears in Live Control Room before going public. Regenerate and replace the key if you believe it has been exposed.

A local OBS setup may use hardware you already own, but a dependable 4K60 run also depends on that machine’s sustained encoding capacity, cooling, power, and internet connection. If you would need to buy a PC, compare the exact CPU, supported codec, cooling, and verified performance rather than relying on a generic mini-PC label. A hosted option shifts the always-on workload off your home computer; check the provider’s current terms and source limits before choosing it. YouTube’s encoder directory identifies Gyre as an option for continuous Full HD and 4K, but does not establish current commercial terms.
