Start by checking the YouTube stream URL and key saved in Larix, then verify the protocol and your phone’s outbound internet connection. Those are the first checks recommended by YouTube and Larix documentation, but the question alone cannot identify one cause: the exact error, phone, app version, and network all matter.
1. Check the YouTube stream URL and key
- Open YouTube Live Control Room for the stream you intend to start. Copy its current stream URL and stream key; YouTube’s encoder setup instructions say to enter the URL in the encoder’s server field and the key in its key field (YouTube’s encoder setup guide).
- Update Larix’s connection. Larix documentation describes a Connection URL formed from the server/application URL followed by the stream key. Its example is
rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2/<stream-key>, but that is an illustration, not a guarantee that this is the current URL for your stream. Use the values shown in Live Control Room (Larix documentation). - Refresh a possibly outdated key. If the key was reset or you are unsure it is current, copy the present key from Live Control Room into Larix. YouTube specifically recommends getting a new key and updating the encoder for third-party encoder start errors (YouTube live-stream troubleshooting).
Do not substitute an old saved connection or a generic URL for the stream-specific values. URL and key errors are especially worth checking when Larix fails as you start publishing.
2. Verify protocol and RTMPS settings
YouTube recommends RTMPS, the secure extension to RTMP, and Larix lists RTMPS support (YouTube encoder settings; Larix Broadcaster). Make sure the protocol and complete server URL in Larix match the values and protocol you are using for the YouTube stream.
- SSL error or connection timeout: Recheck the server URL and protocol. YouTube’s RTMPS guidance says port 443 may resolve some SSL errors; if timeouts persist, check that the encoder supports RTMPS (YouTube RTMPS troubleshooting).
- Do not assume a protocol change will fix every failure. A wrong key or unreachable outbound connection can still prevent publishing even when the protocol is supported.
3. Test the phone’s outbound connection
A picture that looks and sounds good in Larix’s local preview does not prove the phone can reliably send it to YouTube. YouTube advises testing outbound internet connection strength and investigating the connection when local encoder output looks healthy but delivery does not (YouTube troubleshooting).

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Check that the phone has working internet access on the network being used to stream.
- Test the outbound connection, not just whether the app can display a local preview. If the test indicates a network problem, YouTube advises contacting the internet provider.
- Watch Live Control Room to see whether YouTube receives a preview. This helps distinguish a phone-to-YouTube delivery problem from a stream that has connected but is unhealthy or not yet live.
Larix’s FAQ documents reconnect timeout and network-presence controls (Larix FAQ). These affect retry behavior; they do not replace a valid YouTube URL and key or a reachable server.
4. If connected, check stream health and encoder settings
If Larix establishes a connection but YouTube reports an unhealthy or unsupported stream, move on to the encoder configuration rather than repeatedly changing credentials. YouTube’s general guidance lists RTMP/RTMPS; H.264, H.265, or AV1 video; AAC or MP3 audio; and constant bitrate (CBR). It recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds (YouTube encoder settings).

Bitrate recommendations vary with resolution, frame rate, and codec, so select settings appropriate to your stream and measured upload capacity, then check stream health in Live Control Room. These are ingest-quality checks: when Larix reports a connection error, first resolve the URL, key, protocol, and outbound-network questions.
5. Use the error and Control Room state to narrow it down
| What you observe | What to check next |
|---|---|
| Larix errors while starting | Copy the current stream key from Live Control Room and update the encoder, as YouTube recommends. |
| SSL error or timeout | Verify the complete server URL, protocol, RTMPS support, and port 443 where relevant. |
| Local preview looks healthy, but YouTube receives no reliable stream | Test outbound connectivity and inspect the stream’s state in Live Control Room. |
| YouTube receives the stream but marks it unhealthy or unsupported | Check codec, CBR, keyframe interval, and bitrate against YouTube’s encoder guidance. |
If those checks do not resolve it, note the exact Larix error, phone platform, app version, protocol and URL type, and whether Live Control Room receives a preview. Share those details with the relevant app or platform support team. An error message can help narrow the branch, but available official guidance does not assign every Larix error a unique cause.
