1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsYou can connect BoxCast to YouTube and schedule a broadcast, but BoxCast’s published setup guides do not confirm that one event can run or loop continuously 24/7. Use its native YouTube integration for scheduled streams, or its RTMP route when you need to enter YouTube’s server URL and stream key manually. If uninterrupted round-the-clock playback is essential, confirm the operating design with BoxCast before relying on it.
What BoxCast’s documented setup does—and does not—establish
BoxCast’s guides describe scheduled broadcasts with configured start and end times, plus recurring schedules for repeated events. They also document simulated live, which can rebroadcast a previous stream or play an uploaded video as if live. They do not say that simulated live loops indefinitely or that a single broadcast can stay live forever. BoxCast’s YouTube integration guide and getting-started guide are the basis for the steps below; ask BoxCast to confirm a continuous-operation design for your account and use case.
YouTube also cautions that a live stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured as an archive. DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours as well. These are archive and rewind caveats; they do not by themselves establish whether viewers can continue watching a live feed. If preserving a recording matters, make a local recording rather than relying on YouTube to archive a 24-hour stream. YouTube Help: Archive live streams.
Before you begin
- Enable YouTube Live ahead of time. YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. BoxCast’s 2024 support guide warns that full activation can take 24 hours, so do not leave activation until the day of your event. YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.
- Choose a video source. BoxCast lists its Spark encoder and third-party RTMP or SRT encoders as source options. Spark supports Ethernet or Wi-Fi; BoxCast recommends Ethernet for greater stability. BoxCast: Stream to YouTube using BoxCast’s Integration and Spark setup guide.
- Allow time for the setup and test. Confirm that YouTube Live is enabled, the right Google account is available, and your encoder or source is ready before scheduling.
- Protect credentials. If you use RTMP, treat the YouTube stream key like a password. Do not show it in screenshots, share it publicly, or leave it in published setup notes.
Set up the native YouTube integration
- Enable YouTube live streaming. In YouTube, complete the channel’s live-streaming activation and verification requirements. Allow up to 24 hours for activation, as BoxCast’s 2024 guide advises.
- Link the YouTube account in BoxCast. In the BoxCast Dashboard, open Settings → Integrations, add YouTube, select the intended Google/YouTube account, and grant BoxCast permission.
- Schedule a BoxCast broadcast. Select the source or encoder, enter the broadcast details, and set its start and end times. Under Destinations, choose YouTube, select the linked account, and choose the intended visibility. BoxCast recommends using private or unlisted visibility for a test.
- Check the YouTube event and feed. Open the broadcast’s YouTube Live tab or YouTube Live Control Room and verify that the event and incoming feed are correct before sharing it publicly. Add the thumbnail on the YouTube event itself: BoxCast says its scheduled-broadcast thumbnail does not carry over to social destinations.
- Set an end time that matches the event. BoxCast’s scheduling guidance says broadcasts end at their configured end time and describes extending an event by 30 minutes. It also documents recurring schedules, with up to 100 repetitions in the 2024 scheduling article. Those are scheduling capabilities, not evidence of an indefinitely running 24/7 stream. Allow extra time at the end when planning a finite event.
BoxCast says YouTube Live is available as a destination on any BoxCast plan, alongside a website embed. That statement concerns destination availability; it does not establish continuous-loop support or a service-level guarantee.

Use RTMP if you need to enter YouTube’s stream details manually
The RTMP route involves scheduling on both YouTube and BoxCast. It gives you a reusable BoxCast destination, but the documented workflow still requires a new YouTube stream to be scheduled for each event.
- Schedule the YouTube stream. In YouTube Studio, create the event, choose streaming software, and set the intended visibility. For a public event, set it to public. Enable Auto-start and Auto-stop if those match your planned operation.
- Copy YouTube’s server URL and stream key. Keep the key private. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube and update any destination using the old key.
- Create the RTMP destination in BoxCast. Open Settings → Integrations and create an RTMP destination using YouTube’s server URL and stream key. BoxCast’s instructions say not to use authentication and to leave Max Resolution set to None. Follow the current BoxCast interface if labels change.
- Schedule the BoxCast broadcast. Choose your source, set the broadcast details and timing, then select the RTMP destination. Start and monitor the event in YouTube Live Control Room to confirm that YouTube is receiving the feed.
- Repeat the YouTube event setup for each event. Although the RTMP destination can be reused, BoxCast’s guide says YouTube must have a new stream scheduled for each event in this workflow.
Choose a source and plan the schedule
BoxCast identifies Spark and compatible third-party RTMP/SRT encoders as source options. For a fixed Spark installation, Ethernet is BoxCast’s recommended choice for greater stability; Wi-Fi is also supported. A Cat6 Ethernet cable can be useful for a wired setup, but it is optional, not a special BoxCast requirement.

For SRT, BoxCast recommends starting the encoder 10–15 minutes before the scheduled broadcast so the connection is ready. Its SRT instructions cover encoder setup and connection checks: BoxCast SRT setup. Do not interpret that lead time as a guarantee that a stream will connect or stay live.
Troubleshoot common setup failures
- YouTube will not accept the broadcast: Check that live streaming and embed live streaming are enabled for the account, and that the channel meets YouTube’s eligibility requirements. If live streaming was only just enabled, allow the activation period described above.
- “Unable to link the requested YouTube account”: BoxCast recommends removing the BoxCast application’s permission in Google, then linking the account again from BoxCast’s integration settings.
- The event exists but the feed is not right: Open the corresponding video in YouTube Live Control Room from the broadcast’s YouTube Live tab. Check that the intended YouTube account and destination are selected.
- RTMP is not reaching YouTube: Recheck the server URL and stream key, and confirm that Auto-start and Auto-stop are configured as intended on the YouTube stream. Do not paste a real stream key into a support request or public screenshot.
- “SRT source is not connected”: BoxCast says this indicates its servers are not receiving the encoder connection. Check the copied SRT settings and confirm that the encoder is sending.
- The stream ends earlier than expected: Check the BoxCast broadcast’s configured end time. The published scheduling guidance describes finite events; it does not establish an automatic continuation past that time.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a YouTube channel that plays uploaded recordings around the clock, StreamNeo is a cloud alternative: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops uploaded videos; it does not go live from a camera. Nothing has to stay on at home, and the stream continues from the cloud with your computer off.
