If your Be.Live broadcast keeps disconnecting, first try starting a stream on the same YouTube channel without Be.Live. If that also fails, investigate YouTube access or account restrictions. If YouTube works independently, check Be.Live’s YouTube authorization, then use YouTube Live Control Room’s timestamped errors to distinguish encoder problems from an unstable outbound connection. Make one change at a time and verify it with a private or unlisted test.
1. Find out whether YouTube or Be.Live is stopping the stream
Try going live on the affected YouTube channel without using Be.Live. This comparison separates a channel-level problem from a Be.Live integration problem:
- YouTube will not start a stream independently: check the on-screen message and your channel’s live-stream eligibility or restrictions. Be.Live notes that an error when going live directly on YouTube may indicate that live access is unavailable or that Google has applied limitations. Follow the message shown by YouTube rather than repeatedly changing Be.Live settings. See Be.Live’s guidance on issues going live on YouTube.
- YouTube works independently, but Be.Live does not: investigate the Be.Live destination and its Google authorization before changing encoder settings.
Eligibility and restriction messages can change, so rely on the current message shown in your account. Do not treat reauthorizing Be.Live as a remedy for a stream that YouTube itself will not allow to start.
2. Check Be.Live’s YouTube connection
If YouTube works on its own but Be.Live cannot connect to the channel or start the broadcast, check whether the destination is still authorized. Be.Live’s troubleshooting guidance recommends reconnecting access when the integration appears interrupted.

- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Check that the intended YouTube channel is selected as the destination in Be.Live. If a channel or broadcast ID is missing, treat that as an integration symptom.
- Check whether your browser is blocking the authorization flow: allow cookies, disable suspicious or newly added extensions temporarily, and clear the browser cache if needed. Be.Live lists these as browser checks for YouTube connection problems.
- If the connection still appears interrupted, open your Google Account’s connected-app permissions and remove Be.Live. Then sign in to Be.Live again and grant the requested Google permission. Confirm that you authorize the account and channel you intend to use.
- Run a test broadcast before returning to a public event.
Removing and granting permissions again is a targeted authorization reset, not a universal fix for mid-stream dropouts. Be.Live’s setup instructions are at How to Go Live on YouTube.
3. Read YouTube’s health indicator and error timestamp
When YouTube accepts the broadcast, open Live Dashboard or Live Control Room and inspect the stream-health indicator and any error messages. YouTube reports errors with timestamps and distinguishes critical red errors from moderate yellow ones. Use the error that occurred at the time of the disconnect to choose the next check; a format error, for example, calls for a format check, not a general network reset. Consult YouTube’s live streaming error messages.

If the message identifies a format problem
For the format error described in YouTube’s help page, the encoder should send H.264 video and AAC audio. Check the actual encoder output and the specific message before changing codecs. Do not assume every disconnection is caused by format settings.
If there is no format error
Follow the error’s own wording and timestamp. Compare it with what was happening in Be.Live or the encoder at that moment, then use the checks below to isolate output quality, processing load, or network instability.

4. Separate encoder output problems from network problems
YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance recommends checking the encoder itself, the dashboard, CPU load, and a local recording. These checks help establish whether the failure begins before the stream leaves your setup or on the outbound connection. See YouTube’s live-stream troubleshooting guide.
Inspect the encoder and source
- Use the latest version of the encoder you are using.
- Inspect the stream directly in the encoder while it is running. Look and listen for problems that also appear in the outgoing feed.
- Check CPU load around the time of a dropout. If the machine is overloaded, reduce the work it is doing or address the load before judging the network.
- Review a local recording, if available. A recording with the same picture or sound fault points toward the source or encoding path rather than proving that YouTube caused it.
- Match any changes to the timestamped YouTube error instead of changing several settings at once.
If the encoder looks and sounds healthy
YouTube recommends testing the outbound connection. If that connection is faulty, contact your internet provider. YouTube also advises users who sign in to YouTube directly through third-party streaming software without using a stream key to contact that software’s support. That advice applies to the described sign-in method; do not switch authentication methods blindly when diagnosing another setup.

5. Look for signs of an unstable connection
Be.Live identifies blurry or pixelated video, frozen images, changing quality, robotic voice, and audio cutouts as possible symptoms of network instability. Its guidance does not state a minimum internet-speed threshold for going live, so there is no supported universal Mbps figure to use as a pass/fail test. See Be.Live’s network-quality guidance.
Be.Live recommends a stable connection and suggests Ethernet or another hard-wired connection to help avoid lag and delays. If practical, test with a wired connection and see whether the symptom changes. A cable is one troubleshooting option, not a guarantee: a wired connection does not rule out other network or service problems. Be.Live’s YouTube setup guide also recommends stable internet and wired connectivity where possible.

6. Verify each fix with a private or unlisted test
Before relying on a change for a public broadcast, run a test stream with YouTube visibility set to private or unlisted in the destination settings. Be.Live says these settings can keep the test from being visible to subscribers. Watch the stream long enough to determine whether the same failure recurs, and note any new error timestamp. See Be.Live’s guide to testing the studio.
- Change one relevant item, such as authorization, encoder output, or connection method.
- Start a private or unlisted test broadcast.
- Check YouTube’s health indicator and compare any error timestamp with the test.
- If the disconnect persists, return to the decision guide and investigate the next layer rather than making multiple unrelated changes.
Quick decision guide
| What you observe | Next useful check |
|---|---|
| YouTube cannot start a stream even without Be.Live | Read YouTube’s message and check channel live access, eligibility, or restrictions. |
| YouTube works alone, but Be.Live’s channel or broadcast ID is missing or the integration appears interrupted | Check the selected destination and authorization; then review cookies, extensions, and cache as applicable. |
| Live Control Room shows a timestamped error | Follow that error. Check H.264 video and AAC audio only when the message identifies a format issue. |
| Encoder output is poor or CPU load is high | Update the encoder and inspect the source, CPU load, dashboard errors, and local recording. |
| Encoder output looks and sounds healthy, but the stream still fails | Test the outbound connection; contact your internet provider if it is faulty. |
| Video freezes or pixelates, quality changes, or audio turns robotic or cuts out | Assess connection stability; try a wired connection if practical. |
